The adjacent bar/restaurant and tavern in the hotel were enjoyable.

Tracy and Roxie were very helpful. Our first room was not cool enough. The air didn’t seem to work well. They helped us to change rooms on the same floor. Perfect!

Bathroom was not very clean. Great location and neat hotel.

The Cheshire is a unique and beautiful place in a great location. That being said, it has some need of attention. While the room was comfortable, AC was quite loud and the overall cleanliness was not up to the expected standards. Example of cleanliness closet was dusty mentioned air conditioner Had lint buildup table. Obviously hadn’t legs had not been dusted. Overall, it was a wonderful visit and I would return. You just always hope these sort of places get the love and attention. They deserve.

It’s a very nice place to live in considering it’s very close to DeMun. The hotel is old, my bathroom lights did not work, but other than that there wasn’t a big issue.

I am not sure how this hotel has the amount of positive reviews that it has. Perhaps we caught them at the wrong time with the worst rooms. We booked two rooms for four nights. Upon check in I realized that the hotel lobby was dirty and somewhat old, but I hoped the rooms would be an improvement. Folks, the rooms were not an improvement. The rooms were so dirty that my 10 year old noticed. My 10 year old does not have a high bar for cleanliness, whatsoever, so that’s saying something. Specifically, the carpet is old and nasty and definitely wasn’t vacuumed before we got there. One room had a previous customer’s Bobby pin laying on the floor, as well as baby fingernail clippings on the keurig. The bathrooms were both nasty- hair on the floor and shower, mildew/dirt clumped together on the sink, mildew on the shower curtains. Just nasty. We decided to leave a day early because it felt so gross and because work began early in the morning to replace the roof of the hotel and it was very loud. At checkout an older, attractive Black woman employee asked me why we were leaving early. I told her how dirty the rooms were and she apologized and asked why we didn’t ask for a different room. It never occurred to me to ask for different rooms because I assumed if both of our rooms were dirty and the lobby was dirty, all of the rooms were probably dirty. She said that she would authorize the refund when Hotels.com contacted her. We were refunded the money, which I definitely appreciate.

Cute place to stay but definitely needs TLC. The restaurant on site was delicious and loved the location.

Very fun British themed hotel. The staff is super friendly. The on-site pub & grill is cozy and inviting. The outdoor pool has a nice variety of seating options. We really enjoyed our weekend stay.

The Cheshire is a great stay. Convenient location, great staff, yummy breakfast, free parking and all with so much character. What’s not to love? Ashley made our stay fun with all her energy and was always available with suggestions for yummy places to eat!

The room had an inch thick of dust along the sides of the actual bed and behind all of the drawers and the bed. I bet the room hadn’t been dusted in years, except for the obvious things (sheets/linens and bathroom.) These things don’t have to get cleaned but once or twice a year. So that means a lot of corner cutting. Nice hotel otherwise, really trying to be an upscale stay but upscale hotels never let their guard down in any facet of their business.

Front Desk staff so welcoming. Dinner at Fox & Hound Tavern in hotel, a Cheshire Burger, was perfectly prepared. Friendly bar. Nope

My experience at Cheshire was not good and I travel to St. Louis once per month for a few days and I am always looking for a nice clean well maintained 3 star property that does not get over $150 per night to stay when I am in town. This is the first time at Cheshire and was excited to check the property out. Check in was great, public areas and hallways were well maintained - a little older but well maintained. My room was pretty gross. The door had no deadbolt with a very old lock that did not work well and anyone with a screwdriver could break in to the room. The room smelled and was in poor repair. Shower did not get completely hot, lights and fixtures did not all work. The property has a ton of deferred maintenance and the parking garage below was full of trash and debris - not sure why your staff does not clean up these areas. Overall, a disappointing stay and not sure if any other rooms are better. Due to the quality of the room, the bed, and the linens; I probably would not be back unless I knew there were improvements in the work.

The Cheshire is an interesting experience. It is definitely one-of-a-kind. The problem is that the rooms are outdated. The a/c in my room was very loud. The ceiling tiles were dirty. The walls are very thin and I could hear everything the neighbor was saying. The pool is nice but is loud if your room faces it. Parking is convenience. Breakfast is average hotel continental breakfast - nothing special. The pub is cool. The place needs a refresh and an update, which can be accomplished while maintaining its cool medieval throwback vibe.
