Hyatt House Tallahassee Capitol – University

The staff is extremely friendly and accommodating.

Shower could use some bleach to remove stains and mildew. Ridiculous to charge a $25 nightly fee when you have to park across the street in the dirt behind bushes once the small parking lot on the premises fills up. There should not be a fee with insufficient parking. Also, the breakfast bar doesn't have a sneeze guard. Not very safe.

The property was very clean and felt very safe.

Always a great stay! Clean, professional and close to FAMU, FSU and many stores and restaurants.

Air conditioning sounded like a freight train. 1st night I thought it was a train passing by since the rail road tracks are next to the property. But no it was the AC unit in the room. LOUD!

Breakfast was good. They don’t clean your room everyday. The ice machine was broken on our floor so we went down to ask the customer service in the front and she didn’t really want to help us and it took her a long time. We waited for over 10 minutes just for ice.

Rooms are clean and the facility is well kept.

I was looking forward to our stay, but our room was not very clean, hair on the bathroom floor (big clumps in the corners), lots of water damage around the shower and no one made up our room or changed our towels during our stay. To make things worse, I tried numerous times to call the front next for clean wash cloths and no one answered. Parking is terrible, They charge $25/day for parking, yet if you get there late at night, no parking is available. Apparently a gravel lot, that is not well lit, was available, but I didn’t feel comfortable walking there late at night. Lastly, the pillows are way too soft, you head sinks immediately to the mattress and I woke ip with a neck ache every morning.

They don’t clean the rooms or change towels if you’re not staying for four nights or more. We ask if they can do it and said yes but never did it

Bathroom sliding door did not work properly. Very difficult to close. Check in person at desk left and we waited with several others for 20 mins to check in. After arriving close to 11 pm from a. Long travel day. Never had such a poor check in experience. Different person came to desk after 20 mi s with no explanation

Amazing Nothing

It was the perfect distance from FSU and the hotel was clean and orderly and the staff was extremely friendly. Great value for the money!

We have stayed at the Hyatt House several times, and we enjoyed every time. This stay was no different. It's perfectly located, clean rooms, all the staff are super nice, and the price is always right.

Breakfast was excellent. Parking was problematic. A small covered area with attached outside parking spots…then the rest are across the road in another lot. Very inconvenient. The bathroom was clean and well-stocked, as was the coffee bar with fridge, microwave…even a cork screw! But the room still had the odor of being a former smoking room. The staffers we encountered were less than helpful.

Very nice hotel and helpful staff but the breakfast could have been better. There weren’t many options and items were not refilled the closer it got to closing of the breakfast hours.

Clean. Close to everything. Up to date appearance and amenities. Breakfast was good. The bed was too soft and not very comfortabke.

During check-in, we were given incorrect pricing that would have resulted in us paying over $200 more than expected. The parking fees were also not clearly explained, which created even more confusion. However, the most upsetting part was the treatment we received from the front-desk employee. She was rude, dismissive, and hostile while we were simply trying to understand the charges. When I told her that I planned to report the interaction, she responded that she did not care and told me to go right ahead because there were cameras. I found that response extremely unprofessional and unacceptable. I also brought my concerns to management, hoping the situation would be handled appropriately, but I still felt as though my concerns were dismissed and not taken seriously. Mistakes can happen, but how you treat a guest while resolving those mistakes matters. Instead of feeling welcomed, we were left frustrated, uncomfortable, and disappointed. I sincerely hope Hyatt reviews the camera footage from our check-in and addresses this situation. This was absolutely not the experience I expected from Hyatt.
