Staff was really nice! Breakfast was great! Room was very clean!

I booked a room for Feb 4–7 and my card was charged $265.82 that morning. When I arrived at 6:00 PM after work, staff refused to let me check in, claiming I was on a "DNR" list, but refused to give any explanation. No one contacted me prior to arrival despite having my details all day. To make matters worse, staff improperly logged me as "checked in" anyway so they could keep my money. They are now actively ignoring Hotels.com's attempts to process my refund, forcing me to pay out of pocket for a second hotel at the last minute. This follows a previous stay where staff gave a room key to an unauthorized individual who ransacked my room. Zero accountability, zero security, and they will take your money for a room they refuse to give you. Stay away!

Passable

Didn’t like anything at all everything was outdated! Upon checking in, I found that my assigned room had a strong odor of cigarette smoke. Due to being pregnant and having a toddler, we were unable to stay in that room. Unfortunately, staff was unable to accommodate us with an alternative room, so we had to check out and secure another hotel. Also it was impossible to get a hold of a manager. Staff was very unprofessional as well.

Room smell smoking, old and carpet torn. Staff don’t even help out and or wanting to refund.

Nothing

No forks, okay eggs and bacon. Soggy hash browns No forks, food was okay

The room was very nice and clean. Staff was courteous and helpful. Stayed there before and will again if have an opportunity.

The bathroom was in especially bad shape. The water pressure in the shower was barely a trickle, making it a frustrating and unpleasant experience just to get clean. Service didn't help matters either. Staff seemed indifferent at best — no warmth, no smiles. The night staff in particular were unfriendly and unhelpful, which made checking in feel more like a chore than a welcome. If you're looking for a place to relax or enjoy a vacation, steer clear of this property. The only scenario where this might be "acceptable" is if you need a cheap, no-frills bed for a single night and don't care about comfort, cleanliness, or service.

This is a garbage hotel with a front of building face lifted to cover the problems of the room. Torn carpets and dirty and only sprayed with massive deodorant to hide the smell. This was so awful that I left after I saw the room
-
The elevator was very loud and jerky. The bathroom door in the room was falling off the hinges so we had to lift the door to close it. The fan cover in the bathroom was falling off the ceiling. There were outlets with no face cover so there were exposed wires.

Nothing My teenage granddaughter and I arrived for a weekend of shopping at Washington Square. The desk clerk was delightful and engaging, but after a few minutes, the staff supervisor walked in. She immediately told me I was standing too close to the clerk and to stand behind the plexiglass counter. I apologized and told her I’d been behind the counter, but it was barricaded by their “busy/closed/be right back” sign and I had to step to the side of it to give the clerk my credit card. She told me to go stand there anyway. It was a bit ruffling, but I remained silent and did as told. After completing the check-in process, we proceeded to our room. When we opened the door to our room, we were immediately hit with a thick smell of marijuana. We knew we could not stay in this room without it affecting our clothes, breathing, and comfort. And we were booked for three days. I returned to the desk and asked the supervisor if we could switch rooms, but she said none were available. It was 3:00 in the afternoon, and there were only a few cars in the parking lot. I was one of the first ones to check in. But she said her manager assigns rooms, and she couldn’t/wouldn’t change them. I asked to speak with him, but he was out for a few days. She said she would go up and spray the room. After about ten minutes, we went back up, but the smell was awful. It still reeked of marijuana and deodorizer…and was just too uncomfortable to breathe. We went back downstairs, and I asked for the manager’s phone number to see if he’d switch us to another room. The supervisor gave me his business card and circled his number. I called it, but it went right back to the front desk, and she (the supervisor) answered it. I said that I thought I was getting the manager!? She said, “We don’t give out the manager’s number,” and I’d have to wait until Sunday to address the issue. Needless to say, we did not stay.

Clean room and good breakfast

Location was good. Dirty, my daughter walked across the floor and it turned her socks black. There were two holes in the walls with wires poking out. There AC and TV were both broken. The elevator sounded like it would fall any minute and at one point the door opened before the elevator stopped!!!! We finally got moved to another room after the rude front desk gal got over the fact that we interrupted her third break in an hour!!! This place is a joke and spoils be shut down by the health department!!!
-
The positives were that the beds were comfortable and the AC worked.
-
The fighting going on with a group of out of town workers that were to be ther for weeks

To make matters worse, the room’s landline phone was not working, which was extremely inconvenient. I had to use my personal cell phone to call the front desk. When I asked why my door had been opened, the staff member told me, “My system showed that room 217 was vacant.” I find that explanation very concerning, as it reflects a serious lapse in guest safety and security. In addition, there was cigarette smoke throughout the property, making the environment uncomfortable. Overall, this did not feel like a hotel experience. It felt more like a shelter than a hotel, and I am very disappointed with the lack of security, maintenance, and overall guest experience.
