Hotel Indigo Traverse City by IHG

It was ok. I wouldn’t stay there if there was a next trip to Traverse City.

Love this Horel! It’s always a must-visit during our annual TC winery trip. The rooftop bar is our favorite spot to relax, unwind, and enjoy a few drinks. 🍷☀️

Nothing Paid for water view and received a view of a brick wall. Never received a call from the management team as I requested. Front desk Said it was booking.coms fault the rooms were not correct even though our reservation said otherwise. Very disappointed paying so much for a brick wall view.

Bad

Good location right by the water, the rooms were large/comfortable and the people at the front desk and valet were very friendly and helpful. It’s also walking distance to many great restaurants.

This property could use some updating. Our curtains were not hanging properly on the rod, I sat in the lobby for coffee and upon placing my coffee and phone on the decorative live edge windowsill it all slid to the floor, it was not really attached or it had come loose. The coffee itself was subpar. Not very hot served out of an urn for $4. Cream option was the single serve coffee mate verity. Not ok in a nice hotel! I asked for real half and half and the barista said we have that. She then opened the carton smelled it and said maybe I should get a fresh one. After she handed me the new carton I realized it wasn’t half and half but heavy cream. It did the job but I felt like she should have known the difference with some real barista training. I also overheard some other guests complaining that the subpar coffee out of the serve yourself urn was free on weekdays. We quickly found delicious coffee outside of the hotel but were very disappointed by the lack of attention to detail as this was not a cheap place to stay! Could be a great place to stay with some TLC and attention to detail but is currently a near miss.

To say I was disappointed is an understatement. We were excited to try this new hotel. The room itself was nice with a huge bathroom and nicely stoned and tiled shower. Towels were extra big and very nice. The room itself for the $312 a night was a joke. We booked a city view room of which when when got up to the room the window looked right at the new construction next door. For the price, the view should have been much better. There was a glimpse of the bay, and the lights stayed on in the building all night shining into our room. It was maybe 50-100 gap between the hotel and the new building. When we closed the drapes due to the bright lights, the drapes did not close all the way and we had to use the ice bucket to keep it closed. Next, we have the restaurants. The rooftop bar on our first day had amazing views, however, the menu was very limited, and they were out of two of the very few items on the menu. The restaurant had a great menu when looking it up online, which made us decide to stay and eat there for the night. We went down, sat at the bar and the bartender gave us the menu. It was the SAME menu as the rooftop bar and the explanation was that they were short on staff and had to "revamp" the menu. Breakfast, was very good except our last day when we were told that the only eggs they had available was scrambled but you could get an omelette. Staff were very good, but I will not be revisiting this hotel in the future.

The location is close (walking distance) to downtown Traverse City and right across from the waterfront park. The room was well appointed, the bed and pillows were comfortable, and it had a nice, roomy shower. I thought the price was good for the quality of the place, but after taxes and fees, it was almost double what I expected. I'll be investigating....

Room was clean but a little worse for wear. Lighting was very dim. Need higher watt bulbs. Moving away from the bedside lamps it was hard to see. Staff was great, including front desk and valet parking. Did not use breakfast or bar but looked nice. Would return to stay another time.

certainly not what I would expect from a hotel in this price range. One restaurant no pool and a very crowded roof lounge.

Nice quiet resort!

Beautiful area. Very contemporary feel and look to the hotel. Giant walk in shower. Not much lighting in rooms. Had a room with a bay view which was beautiful but also next to the road and noisy at times. Valet staff were all fast and amazing and helpful. Check out online required an app that we didn’t want to download, so instead we waited 10 minutes for a person to appear at the front desk to check us out. Dinner was delicious- the best chicken sandwich we’ve ever had and truffle fries. Breakfast was mixed - breakfast burritos were great but they were out of non-dairy for coffee/lattes and our cinnamon roll was stale. Overall good experience and would stay there again.

Location was perfect for enjoyingTC, especially for the Cherry Festival. The rooftop bar had beautiful views and friendly staff. In the downstairs restaurant/bar, the bartender was great. We waited 30 minutes for our simple breakfast to be brought, and unfortunately had to leave to get to the airport before it came.

Location Extremely over priced for a basic room. There was nothing included like a free bottle of water or breakfast. The aircon was so old. There is a valet only service which is $18 plus tip every time you need your car which is ridiculous (happy to park and get my own car for free and would appreciate the option)

Huge hard pillows. Had to make two requests to change to a room without a noisy air conditioner right outside the window. Second room was very quiet even with a lot of noise in the hallway.

Friendly staff and a really nice hotel. Loved the rooftop bar with views of the bay. It's a small thing, but they provided 4 towels for the room, which my wife and I both appreciated. Nice to see little touches like that.

The room was nice, but this hotel seems to be understaffed - especially in the bar and restaurant area. Also, there is a lot of construction around the hotel, which wasn't great.... and we had to valet park the car for an additional charge that was not mentioned in our reservation. We were told the only other alternative would be street parking .... not good. Overall, it was an OK stay and I would consider this property again only for the convenient location.
