Park Place Hotel

lots of repairs and updates going on at the time of our stay but from previous visits we can say it was fun and not a big problem. we'll be back...the rooms were clean and staff attentive, good food and drinks at the bar and a nice friendly visit there.

Excellent location for downtown shopping. The staff was very friendly and helpful. We would definitely stay here again.

Great hotel & location!! We could leave the car in the lot & reach many places in the downtown by foot. Also, not a far drive from the many wineries in the area. Would definitely stay here again!

Park Place Hotel is in a great location in downtown Traverse City. There is a nice roof top bar on the 10th floor and the bartenders there were great. My only negative is that the rooms are not cleaned everyday unless you ask.

Very nice stay…. Just didn’t like the dogs staying across the hall barking during the night

We hope to stay again next year! ONLY downside was the main elevator was not functioning and understand has not been fixed for quite a while, other than that, a great stay and love how close it is to downtown for my husbands scooter! THANK YOU PARK PLACE!!! Nearly forgot...love the GIFT SHOP!!!

The front-of-house staff and the restaurant staff were very nice and helpful. The upstairs (with view of the lake) lounge is great for relaxing after dinner out in town. old worldly.

Location was perfect. One elevator was out of service. Ice machine didn’t work. Restaurant was short staffed. Building just looked old

Excellent location, right in heart of town. Comfortable beds, but rooms and hotel could use a good scrubbing. Elevators are wonky, did not use pool. Exterior doors were non-functioning for part of our stay, but were locked at night and blocked off for security. But truly FANTASTIC LOCATION!

Great location in downtown Traverse City. Easy parking on site. Restaurant and rooftop enclosed bar on property. Building was older and had lots of character.

The hotel is very outdated and needs a major upgrade and renovation.

Location was the best part of this historic hotel. The historic lobby was ok with the pretty old woodwork, although kind of smelled Beyond that, I don't have much positive to say. Only one elevator worked and it was yucky. Going up to the bar at the top deck should have been really cool .. the view and the service was excellent, but it just felt old and yuck. You had to walk through and old out of use kitchen to get to it. Just a shame because this should be one of the coolest places in town. The plumbing was terrible. The sink would hold water super fast and super slow to drain. The shower was ok. Stool was sometimes tricky to get to flush. I get that sometimes in an old building. The worst part was when I went to get the extra blanket out of the closet. It was all wrapped in a plastic bag, so I thought it would be clean and fresh. I took it out and nearly threw up from the smell. Smelled musty and gross. No telling how long since it had been washed. The white down comforter under the top cover had a big yellow stain on it. Those two things did me in. This was all in the " recently" renovated tower rooms. If these were recently renovated I would hate to see the others. Lucky for us we weren't in the room very much and we had a great time. The town and area is awesome.

The room is terrible

I was feeling quite hesitant about staying hear reading other reviews about amenities not working well (water); however, we stayed in a basic 1 bedroom room on 3rd floor of the elevator closest to parking. Water in the shower worked great. Parking was a perk. It was quite humid in the room, but the AC worked ok. Elevators in the main hotel (tall tower) were out of order, so I'm wondering if that also related to water pressure issues? The upstairs bar smelled terribly rotten (mold, mildew, sour drains, poor ventilation), so we left immediately. The whole place was just kind of run down and needed better maintenance, though relatively clean. Great location; felt very safe walking around town, so the location and parking mostly validated the high price point. Would come back again.

Room smelled very strongly of dogs and was covered up with an over bearing amount of carpet deodorizer. Room was very musty and humid and never reached a comfortable temperature. Facilities really need an upgrade, I’m sure at one point this hotel was a Crown Jewels but sadly it is becoming quite dilapidated. Would not recommend and would not recommend book, unfortunately.

I chose this hotel for the location. But for almost $550 I expected a more well kept hotel. They put us in the side wing which looks like it hast been updated since it was built… nothing was dirty, just outdated and worn out. One of the elevators that went up to the bar on the top floor was out of order, and we waited a long time. The bar is tiny! Like 4-5 tables and 6 barstools. So once we finally got up, we tried to see if any seats would open and after waiting a while we ended up leaving. The sprinklers outside were also broken and were on 24/7 and there was no way to enter the hotel without getting a little wet.
