EVEN Hotel Detroit North - Troy

This is a nice quiet and convenient hotel for my stay in Birmingham. My only concern was the difficulty using the internet

At 8pm came back to the hotel and the issue was not fixed, I asked the front desk and I was told the maintenance was left and they will come fix Saturday morning , we checked out on Sunday and no one has came to fix it When checking out the front desk asked if the stay was good ! We mentioned the issue and he said I’m sorry you guys have a good day!!! I was not sure what is the reason to ask if I’m sorry was your answer? We also had missing night stand in the room and I did mention to the lady at the front desk to make sure I won’t be charged, I had to leave my phone one the floor while I was charging at night Last thing I had my own pillow case and the room service took it and I had to report it twice to get it back the next day at night

Love the yoga area in the room. Comfy bed. Great location.

Overall it was clean and they replaced our towels which was nice. The only thing is it seemed like it was cheaply upgraded. The floor and trim was cheap. I loved the yoga mirror & the yoga supplies that came with the room though. We did request an infant crib but one wasn’t put in our room. Pool was nice and warm though. Overall, it suited our needs!

The only mild annoyance was the lack of temperature control in the room. The thermostat was not working properly.

Location is easy to find. Clean rooms and helpful staff. There is a restaurant and bar area for breakfast and dinner, but also close to many area restaurants. Loads of parking as well.

Every amenity from A-Z i didn’t like the fact that I had to place a $200 deposit

Also the shower wasn't draining so almost flooded the bathroom. Otherwise the amenities were nice with room was very clean and the service was great.

This property does not offer a free breakfast, but they have a restaurant that serves breakfast. The gyro meat/egg burrito was excellent. This property has a very nice pool and a bar that serves after 4PM. Fogo de Chao is also within a very short walk and service there was much better than the reviews I read on line for this restaurant. We went on a Thursday night and there was a small crowd.

This is a great hotel. Clean, great amenities, and excellent staff. Sherry, the bartender/waitress was particularly friendly and helpful! Would stay here anytime.

,and I enjoyed there menu with drinks and dinner being a simple menu with good food great service , the last time I was visiting the hotel and the staff at the front desk treated me like family and was so pleasant with her job and people , very pleasant lady to check in or out with ,

It looked as if the property has been refurbished however seemed cheaply done. First the front desk staff was extremely poor. When I checked in at 3 I was told that only some room were clean and that if I wanted a second floor room it would be awhile. The front desk girl was taking to house keeping asking when rooms would be done and then said “well that ghetto”. I came back a hour later and finally got my room. I was told “ you’re staying with us for 4 days so we don’t do house keeping unless requested. The next day I asked for clean towels and it seemed like this was a huge request. They did replace the towels in the room but didn’t even touch the bed. I had only 5 Kleenex on the container and it was empty. Didn't even replace the kleenex. Same thing the next day. Had to ask for towels each day. The room finally got some house keeping done on the 3rd day however the floor was not swept. The toilet handle was loose and feel off. I had to fix that. The hallway had some French fries that somewhat dropped and they remained in the hall for two days. They had a patio with chairs outside off of the pool. I went out to sit and enjoy the weather however the door was lock when I attempted to go back in. Thankfully I had my phone so o could call the front desk to get someone to come over and let me back in otherwise I’d have to climb over the 6 foot wall. The worst of all was probably the front desk staff. Not a single one had any customer service skills.

It was a little far it was clean

We were traveling with a small dog (six pounds) and selected the hotel based on pet friendliness. All the staff who met our dog were kind and happy to see her. The staff, in general were really very helpful and went out of their way to make the three of us welcome and comfortable. The property is well located. The bathroom facilities were modern and worked as expected. Bedding was very good. Everything is new and there are some minor punch-list type items, but nothing significant. Breakfast is cooked to order, hot, plentiful and tasty. We will be happy to return in the future.

Room was clean and didn't hear any noise from other rooms beside and on top of my room. Close by the highway and lots of restaurants near by which is a plus

Hotel seemed understaffed and had guest waiting quite a bit (had to wait for ice machine, microwave, etc...). I also forgot my bathroom bag and housekeeping did not turn it in, that is too bad.

Just spent one night - comfortable beds, friendly staff.
