DoubleTree Suites by Hilton Tucson - Williams Center

I genuinely cannot understand how this property carries the DoubleTree by Hilton name. Yes, the suite is large, but that don’t impress me much when it smells overwhelmingly of sour milk and musty carpet—and the smell was still just as bad the next morning. The property feels straight out of the 1970s: popcorn ceilings with water stains, stained curtains, old carpet and extremely dated furniture. The bathtub is peeling and rusted, the toilet seat is stained, and the toilet barely flushes due to poor water pressure. I opened the sliding door just to escape the smell and nearly pulled it out of the wall. At $176 a night, more than several nearby hotels, this was incredibly poor value. I travel extensively and stay at Hilton properties regularly, and this is easily one of the most disappointing. The 8.6 Hotels.com rating is baffling. This hotel needs a deep clean and major renovation. I would not stay here again.

Clean room. Hot breakfast

Loved the staff, the ambience and the free warm cookies! Everyone was so nice and helpful, I’ve loved this hotel since going to the UofA 20 years ago!

The location was very nice, close to many places and shopping. The property was very nice too! The pool and the hot tub were a plus! The included buffet breakfast was so-so. It was extremely limited. When the eggs were empty there was no rush to get more. The tables were clean and there was a selection of different teas if you are a tea drinker. The room was very large, more than I needed. The only bad thing about the room is the mattress was worn on the edge where people sit to get in and out.

Quiet while sleeping

Exceptional breakfast and kind, helpful, and welcoming staff! They accommodated my request for a quiet room. The AC was broken and they changed our room quickly. Older but well-maintained property.

We always have a great stay at this hotel. The rooms are quiet, clean and cozy and breakfast has plenty of good options. Staff is friendly. We will be back!

Great ambiance and nice amenities

The furniture, carpeting, and curtains were old, torn, and broken. The room smelled and was not clean. Would not stay here again.

The furniture in the room was extremely worn and outdated\. The coffee table was broken, with exposed areas that appeared to have been marked over with a marker\. The lampshades had strange liquid stains and were falling apart\. The carpet was dirty and had multiple stains, and the bathroom was very outdated\. The sheets on the beds also appeared to be dirty\. There was also a large gathering of approximately 30 people outside near the pool that continued late into the night\. People were drinking and smoking, and the strong smell of marijuana was noticeable\. The hallway outside our room also had what appeared to be stains from bodily fluids, which was very unpleasant\. Additionally, I had requested a pack\-and\-play at the time of booking, but it took approximately three hours for it to be delivered to our room\. The staff was okay and did accommodate our room change, but overall, the condition of the room and the property made the stay uncomfortable\. The accommodations were outdated, poorly maintained, and not as clean as I would expect\.
