Fairfield Inn and Suites by Marriott Valparaiso

The staff were very accommodating, friendly, and helpful. What they had to work with was poor. Marriott should be ashamed to keep a hotel with their name on it in such rough condition. Every guest that I spoke to had issues with their room. For me I had to change rooms because of extremely low water press so that the toilet barely flushed and took five minutes to fill between each flush (I timed it) and needed repeated flushing to clear the bowl completely. I don’t know about others but I had more important things to do with my day than spend 15 minutes flushing a toilet. Another guest in my party in another room had the same issue on a different floor. The air conditioner in my room was right next to the bed and was clanking and gurgling all night such that I couldn’t sleep. Since I was there for five nights these issues caused me to request to change rooms after the second night of no sleep. I have never done that in any hotel before. The second room was fine and had been somewhat renovated. If I wasn’t using my Marriott points though I would have changed hotels.

Room was clean and the staff was amazing

The hotel has been updated which is very nice. We were disappointed that the pool was being worked on and no indication was made at the time of reserving through Expedia!

They hotel was very nice and clean only downfall is we booked hotel for pool and it was down! Other then that great stay would recommend!

The pool was under construction

Staff was cordial and efficient.

Nothing That I paid for the pool amenities and wasn’t informed until check in that the pool was closed for refurbishing

Hotel was nice, I just wouldn’t stay here again til renovation is complete. Would have been nice to yes pool and it was closed.

Construction work lasted into evenings and on weekend. One of the staff was very rude.accused me of hiding dogs when I had it in reservation and had already paid the fee.

Nothing except the staff were very kind Everything Horrible room Awful unclean Blinds didn’t work.

The room was good. I used my phone to look at the website for Fairfield Inn and Suites by Marriott Valparaiso. Had I scrolled down a bit further I would have seen it was under major renovations. That is my fault. Had I known I would have picked a different place to stay. Too bad they didn't offer a lower price due to most areas being off limits.

Hotel was under renovations & pool was not open

The ataff was wonderful but the hotel was underrenovation had no pool or spa . Will not until 2027 had we known that we choosen a different hotel.

My son was not allowed to check in even though he is an adult. The age policy was no where on the Expedia site before I paid for the room.

Breakfast was ok. Floors felt like they would cave in and sqeeked.

Staff was friendly and breakfast was good and included in price. Bathtub was very slippery and dipped in a little. I slipped and fell when getting out. The safety grab bar was not on side to get out. The pool was being updated and not available. I wished they told us sooner. I would have tried to book elsewhere. Elevator was also being updated or used for construction and had a weird chemical smell.

Our room was clean and the bed was comfortable. There were a few dated things like the TV and alarm clock. Breakfast was really good with a lot of variety.
