Hampton Inn Van Horn

The staff. Mary is awesome! We drove cross country and the staff in general was better there than anywhere else we stayed. Nothing!

The only amenity we used was the breakfast. It was good. The room was clean. The pull down shade in the room pulled down but would not retract. Front desk staff was friendly.

A male employee working around the front of the property in the morning was very helpful and assisted me in loading my elderly Golden Retriever into my vehicle. Because of these 2 employees I will stay here on future trips and recommend staying here to my friends.

Fine location just outside of Van Horn. The room we were given smelled disastrously. When we asked to change to another room, our reservation was cancelled by the manager.

The air conditioning in the front area of the building was not working and area was hot. There was 6 in my group and we wanted to sit in the front sitting area but was told no by the front desk clerk as he had mopped the area earlier. The floors were dry, we should have been accommodated. Then both back doors to the hotel were propped open with large stones even though there is a sign that says the doors should remain locked for security reasons, my husband spoke to the front desk clerk and he was not concerned and the doors remained open. The clerk had also asked if we could see our vehicle from our room, that was concerning as we wondered how safe the area was. The rooms were clean. Will not stay here again.

A simple, clean property The a/c in the common areas was not working. (More of an issue for the employees than the guests)

the bathtub was dirty,stained and had hair in it. Just gross dirty

No AC in the lobby/kitchen areas - they have portable units set up but it’s not getting the job done. First room was still dirty - even had food in the fridge. TV did not work. Needed a new room and at first they said they couldn’t get me one because they were full and would have to double book. They sent a housekeeper to clean the room and then magically found us a different room for which I was grateful. The pool/hot tub area was clean. The breakfast was your standard free hotel breakfast - nothing new. The fruit looked old. All in all would not stay here again. Found out from staff that the AC in lobby and kitchen had been out over a month.

The rooms were nice and the property was in a convenient location The indoor pool was too chlorinated and we couldn’t even go swimming. That was one of the reasons we chose this particular hotel. One of our four rooms had a strange odor and mold was found on the ceiling in the bathroom.

Good location and friendly staff. Room had an unpleasant smell as if someone had cooked in the room. Housekeeping had to provide deoderizer for us to spay. Could also hear people above us walking around so not enough insulation in ceiling.
