Beautiful property in a great location near the beach. The room was very clean and the bed was comfortable. The only complaint I would have was the breakfast was not very fresh. We threw away most of what we put on our plate. Seemed the food may have been prepared very early and kept in warmers for some time.

Table on balcony was filthy. Highway sounds a bummer. We adjusted and managed to have a nice time anyway.
-
It was clean the room ,no noises , good location and a good place for family environment . I did not like the odors in the room I suggested they can put something for the smell

The girls at the reception were very helpful and friendly. The location is great, the view was very pretty and the room was comfortable. I will come back when visiting the area again.

Great stay. Comfortable rooms. Thick windows block out sound from freeway.
-
This property offers a cozy experience; however, some of the amenities are not well maintained.
-
The breakfast was terrible but the setting was nice. The room was clean but noisy due to the conjoined room lay out where a hollow door is all that separated us from the neighborhood who had kids. There was no smart tv only had spectrum cable with one HBO channel.
-
The hotel was convenient to accessing the beach trail. No dogs allowed on the beach. A pleasant walk on the trail to downtown and back to the hotel. The downtown is historic we had good coffee and Acai bowls, and a nice walk.

Great location. We had a nice view of the ocean from our room. Definitely needs some TLC very dingy like old hotels become if not maintained. Seems like they are in the process of upgrading but looks like the progress is slow. Because its pet friendly and old, the carpet has a smell. Carpets need to be replaced preferably not by carpet to keep dog smell down. Once renovations are complete I believe it will be great

Location and staff Towels hard rough and small size

Breakfast was average. Outdoor patio seating with ocean view was nice.
-
The property has a lot of deferred maintenance. They ran out of almost everything in the breakfast before breakfast was over. Good location you can walk to the beach.
-
Clean place and comfortable at the garden cottage.

Why I gave 3 stars is purely for location and cleanliness and even then, they would have at least placed the windows for some of the rooms to face directly to the ocean. I paid $245 for a room/night, and it should have been at most $100/night. I've paid less getting better rooms at a Homewood, Holiday Inn, Residences Inn, and the likes. First impression is always the key for me and as you walk into the hotel and registration office, it already smelled old and musty. the building was established in 1910, and I guess that speaks for itself. Free breakfast was less than mediocre, boxed egg, paper thin bacon, you get the gist, but with a view. The facility was well maintained and clean, but I just couldn't get over the smell and how old the building was. I am usually not a hotel snob especially if it's only for one night, but definitely not worth $245.

location super close to beach, nice view of ocean, only 5 min drive from , downtown ventura and restaurants, room big enough and staff very kind and welcoming a bit of smell and carpet looked super outdated and old. Arm chair really old and not so clean, not enough crhairs to seat in, could use a small table and chairs by window, with such a nice view of ocean. Pool towels too small and thin, barely dried .

Complimentary breakfast rooms are cozy and good customer service and friendly staff The lady in the kitchen needs more help extra staff she was doing a great job feeding 178 people by herself
-
It was a very nice stay. No complains
-
The property has a lot of potential. Would like to come back once the two halls are finished their refurbishment.
-
Close to ocean and short driving distance to Downtown Ventura and marina. Stairs to go to our room, no elevator, noise from freeway.
