White Caps Motel

The rooms here have been redone and are beautiful. Very Clean, comfortable Beds & Linens, great air conditioning; my room had a mini fridge, safe, parking right outside the door, a little table and stools to work at, and really nice bathroom. The price was excellent for a weekend or weekday! Walking distance to cafe’s, beach, etc. I felt very safe. Will definitely return. Also look forward to additions I think they are making/renovating.

Everything was perfect - large clean room, comfortable bed (maybe too comfy!) , newly renovated, spacious bathroom, very little plastic anywhere, Great price and location close to breakfasts of all sorts. Wonderful stay.

This is a value hotel. So there is no coffee maker, water or cups. Plan accordingly. The hotel is clean, the rooms are updated, its actually an outstnding value for a solo traveler , like me, on a fishing trip.

Every aspect of my stay was excellent. The room and the motel is very nice and the staff were extremely available, professional and friendly!!

Simple room, great service , worth the stay

If you’re looking for a clean easily accessible place to stay this is it. This is obviously not the Ritz Carlton but It’s a completely renovated motel inside and out. Very affordable pricing. No complaints.

Location it was close to the stores and the fair. Someone took our parking spot.

The price was great for the location and the room was clean, comfortable, had a nice shower, and cute seaside decor. I liked that there was a little sitting area and a shelf table with stools as well as a place to hang your clothes - it was a good use of space for the small size of the room. The staff member (I believe it was the owner) was very friendly and allowed late check out by one hour for no extra charge, which I really appreciated. The location was about a 10 minute walk to the beach trail off of Sanjon, an additional 5 minutes to the pier, and then another several minutes to the downtown area with all the shops and restaurants so you really can walk to some nice places. There were also a couple of restaurants and a boba tea shop within a 3 minute walk when going the other direction (turning right out of the parking lot). There was a cute but tiny fridge and a safe in the room. It was also nice that you could just park horizontally right in front of the room. I really do not have any complaints and I stand by my 5 star review but some nice extra touches would be a microwave and coffee maker or maybe just having coffee/tea offered at the check in area. I also think that there should be more hooks in the bathroom because the two hooks are right in front of the shower and there is no door on the shower so a little bit of water splashed on my towel and clothes. Also, just FYI, the bathroom door is a sliding door and does not lock. None of these things are a big deal to me and the pros outweigh any little inconvenience so, overall, I would still definitely come back and stay again.

For a motel it was modern and overall clean however the rug in the room was disgustingly dirty, the sofa was covered with large stains and the toilet roll holder was coming out the wall. It would have been nice to have a small coffee maker or kettle in the room. Overall it was decent but I wouldn’t stay there again.

White Caps Motel was extremely convenient for our Highway 1 road trip from San Francisco to Los Angeles. We arrived late at night, check-in was completely seamless and hassle-free. The room looked brand new, fresh, clean and it was just a few minutes walk from the ocean. Highly recommended for anyone making the coastal drive

I stayed here for a night. The rooms are decorated nicely, clean, and I loved that they used Beekman products. The cons, however, set me up for a tired next day, as the window shade choice versus blackout curtains left the room a bit bright due to the lights in the parking area. I was also disappointed to find that basic expected amenities like a coffee maker in the room or coffee anywhere on site were lacking, as well as cups and an ice machine. The lamps with the USB ports were both broken. The A/C shut itself off in the middle of the night, leaving me a bit sweaty. Finally, staff did not answer the phone at 7 am. For $160, I would have sacrificed the decorating for basic amenities. Left me feeling tired and unsatisfied.
