Very relaxing stay after driving a rainy 460 miles ; Andrew checked on our progress and welcomed us to his amazing historic home; it was wonderful to have an actual key to our room and the front door. The room and the entire house was tastefully furnished and reflected its 165 year history. The linens and towels were thick and soft, a definite step up from the usual hotel offerings as were the beds; indeed, the house and the neighborhood were quiet and we passed two restful nights. Bazsinsky House somehow survived the siege and bombardment of 1863 and the vicissitudes of the Bazsinsky family history which were vividly recounted by Andrew. We should all be grateful that this treasure is now in such lovingly reverent hands. I wish that we’d had more time to spend at Bazsinsky House; we were told about the amazing museums in the historic courthouse which is across the street and about other museums in the town; just didn’t have enough time to devote to the actual battle field siege works in just two days.

Historical home with great character and a warm hospitable host No issues for us, but be aware that the accommodations are up a long flight of stairs which could be an issue for travelers with mobility issues

The location was fantastic, the host was great and the beds were incredibly comfortable. One of the few occasions I slept as well as I do at home.

There was so much to see and the host was charming.

breakfast was ok but you need to offer guests refills on coffee and more food if needed.

We spent two nights at this wonderful historic property. The house is majestic full of beautiful antique pieces of furniture. The bedroom was very comfortable and well appointed. Our host Andrew was most welcoming, producing very fresh tasty breakfasts and going out of his way to source information for places we were subsequently travelling to. He also has a friendly dog, Lady Clementine. The house is very well located, within short walking distance to a number of restaurants and bars. Free parking is available directly outside the property. I would stay here again if I got the chance and would highly recommend to others.
