Duff Green Mansion

After staying in a B & B in Lafayette, La recently I found it hard to give 4s. Areas that need improvement: welcoming management and host that sets the tone for a warm welcoming environment for guest to meet and converse. Update/improve decor and aesthetics in rooms and property. Serve fresh made food from scratch, no premade food. Dress code for staff. Improve food serving process.

Interesting history we did not realize until after we booked the reservation. Google the mansion prior to booking. I was not bothered by any ghost, but some may have reservations on sleeping here. Inside furnishings need some TLC. Breakfast was decent, but more like sample servings. DJ that was serving breakfast was very nice and accommodating. House is beautiful, and Vicksburg was a great historical city. Atmosphere was quite, I did not like that the front door to place was unlocked. Your room has it's own seperate locked door. Bed was comfortable. Parking is tight if other vehicles do not park with other guest in mind.

This was the nicest stay in a long time. Immensely enjoyable! Take the tour after breakfast.

This is our favorite place to stay in Vicksburg. The property is beautiful, the staff is great. Very nice breakfast and the rates are more than fair for such nice accommodations. I strongly recommend.

This is difficult to write a review on because I want to give it 5 stars but I can't just due to some minor details. Hard because it's a historic hotel so you don't expect it to be perfectly upkept but it could be at least a little better. Vents were cakes in dust and grime for example that could be cleaned (for a long time overdue). Things like poorly fit ceiling tiles in bathroom, maintenance on outside where rotting boards were being replaced on the deck, things like that are understandable but still can't give a 5 star "yet". They are working on it looks like so hopefully it will continue to improve. Aside from that it was a good stay no major issues.

The owner was very accommodating, super friendly and helpful. The breakfast was really good. And the mansion was so interesting. They even give a tour after breakfast. Would recommend staying here. You won’t be sorry the rooms were clean. Everything was just perfect.

The biscuits, the jam (not sure what flavor?), the quiche, and the pound cake. Also, the service... The beautiful outdoor patio and pool area. Everyone was friendly and helpful. Nice tour with plenty of historical info about the home and family. The portions were too small and some of the food wasn't homemade as would be expected at a B&B (eggo waffles), also we stayed in the Dixie room and the AC struggled to maintain 72 degrees.

We had a wonderful stay at the Duff Green! The antiques are beautiful, the pool is lovely and the staff are so welcoming! Miss Laurie hosted a wine happy hour and told us ghost stories and history of the house. Breakfast was very tasty. My husband was hesitant about staying at a B&B but he loved it! I highly recommend!

The property has a pool that is well maintained and was a pleasure to use. The wonderful breakfast was unforgettable. We would stay there again!

Property was amazing. We had a great time and the good was delicious. Lori was amazing and very knowledgeable on the history of the house and the area. We really enjoyed sitting and talking with her.

The mansion was beautiful and the staff were very polite. My husband and I were celebrating our anniversary and I would highly recommend Duff Green Mansion. They were close to shopping, restaurants, and had a beautiful pool/patio area to enjoy.

We had a very enjoyable stay at Duff Green. The property is charming and evokes the atmosphere of the Old South through its period architecture, decor and surroundings. The entire staff was friendly and so eager to please. The onsite manager, led a wonderful tour, explaining the property’s history and allowing us to touch and feel the period furniture, clothing, etc., and the cooks and servers who provided a delicious breakfast were so kind and proficient. We even got to meet the owner, who delighted us with her history with this majestic home. In short, this was a marvelous stay.

Lori was a really great host. I really enjoyed the tour and chatting with her.

Great location. Unique historic home.

The place was beautiful only down side was the cook did not show up so the grounds keeper and housekeeper had to throw together a make do breakfast for the bed and “breakfast”. Did not get the nice meal we were promised and paid for. But otherwise a nice stay and the staff was sweet and apologetic for the inconvenience. Would definitely stay again.

Delightful stay. Property has so many interesting historical artifacts and a wonderful breakfast with a tour after. We loved the Duff Green Suite with room for a large family

What a lovely bed and breakfast. It is on the historical registry and so beautiful. The breakfast was outstanding! I very much enjoyed a tour of the home given to us by an entertaining and knowledgeable hostess. I would love to stay there again.

Staff were so amazing. Inside the property was so full of history. Outside definitely needs work, which you can see they are working on. I do recommend this place because of the history and also recommended the restaurant/ Hotel near bye called Anchuca. Amazing food etc

Lovely stay in largest suite. I was very disappointed with breakfast, but it was nice to dine with others staying there. Would love to come back
