Elevator was to slow

Our check in process was horrible. We were told our 2 rooms were not ready which was fine because we were early but I was asked did it matter what floor we were on - I said no. Then I was asked if we wanted an adjacent room and said yes. They told me they'd text when the room was ready. Well 3 hours later we still didn't receive a call so we returned to the hotel because we were hot and tired. One of our rooms was ready the other still wasn't.

Parking was super tight as anywhere would be on Virginia Beach oceanfront. Only one working elevator, which took a very long time to get from wherever it was going. Plenty of times had to be packed in like sardines, stand out in the hall which was outside in the heat ( next to the trash bin that smelt horrid) or choose to walk up three flights of stairs to get to our floor. Door was incredibly hard to open, no deadbolt. Room was basic clean as to be expected. Besides, this is one of the hottest oceanfront we’ve ever stayed in. seemed like the air conditioner just could not keep up with the heat. Also By the second day we had ants on the floor…. On the sixth floor. Lastly we had to lug our old dirty laundry all the way to the lobby to be exchanged for new towels. I’m not one to complain. Granted I chose this hotel with some of the other reviews provided but definitely was not what I expected whatsoever

Room was somewhat clean, had hair in bathroom and in shower. Staff was unhelpful. There were only 2 towels in room at check in and staff would not bring extra towels to room, had to go get them. 1 of 2 elevators was out of order. Trash on premises and in garage. Housekeeping is every 3 days. They say you can request housekeeping as needed, when we requested on day 3 (before 11am) as directed by sticker in bathroom they never came. We were asked to come front desk to pick up towels and trash bags for room.

Not clean, a lot of flies, only one elevator working I had to wait 5 to 10 minutes every time to go first floor they give me a hard time to give me towels that I need no communication. There was a lot of water in the front of my room. No one came to clean it worst experience ever. Will never come back again. Communication & Elevator

Arrived about 9:15am only biscuits, boiled eggs, and cereal available. Did not like

Location Property was very outdated. No linen at all in the bathroom upon arrival. Balcony raggedy.

The location was beautiful but everything else was horrible. Pictures on website are deceiving. Everything was old falling apart and dirty. Everything but the staff. I feel bad they have to work there.

The front desk lady name Judy was super nice and welcoming. Everything! Long lines to check in/out. Only one elevator was running the entire time causing my family to have to use the stairs to carry all our belongings and beach wagon to the 8th floor.

Location Broken elevator. We’ve been staying at this facility over the years periodically and there is always a broken elevator! The excuse from staff is that it couldn’t be fixed unless the only elevator was shut down too.

Or went. No working ice machine anywhere in the hotel

Proximity to the beach and stores. Great breakfast variety with an excellent chef. Chris was very personable and made sure the food kept coming. No complaints

Con's: 1 elevator working to service 300+ guests and staff (staff did not use the stairs like we opted to do to avoid the up to 10minute wait). Ice machines we could find did not work. Requested room to be cleaned daily over 4 night stay. Received towels twice only. No cleaning, no trash pickup, nothing. Room was filthy upon check in. 3 towels for family of 4. Beds were made, but every surface was dirty: sand over everything, windows and mirrors were greasy with fingerprints. Leftover food in the unstable mini fridge. Pool was cloudy. Door to go to the beach was less than 6' high. Significantly understaffed. Breakfast was always out of everything constantly. Occasionally they would bring out an item and people waiting would swarm - visualize a Socialist country bread line. Only 2 people working in the kitchen. Pros: The toilet was loud and powerful. The shower worked, despite the moldy ceiling. The ocean views were nice, as all the hotels have. The AC worked for the duration of our stay. That's it.

The beachfront location was convenient, and we enjoyed being close to the ocean. The room felt very old and outdated, and the sofa bed was also very old and did not work properly. Only one elevator was working, so we often had to use the stairs. We were a group of four, but when we asked for blankets, we were initially told we could only have one and would have to wait for the others. The breakfast experience was also disappointing. We observed the person in charge of the breakfast area giving certain items, such as bacon, pancakes, and waffles, preferentially to guests who gave tips. It made us feel that some breakfast items were being treated as a way to receive tips rather than being equally available to all guests.

Love the ocean view, love that we can sit on the balcony and watch the ocean. The hotel was clean and beautiful N/A

The staff were exceptional. The front desk was helpful and the cook was kind friendly and working so hard to fill the breakfast bar.
