Magnuson Hotel Virginia Beach

It's a very nasty place to stay. They didn't give us fresh towels the 4 days we were there. A drug dealer approached my husband wanting to know if he was interested in buying any kind of drug, he started naming off drugs. They didn't change the sheets at all. No coffee at all. The pool was green and on there site it says they have 3 pools plus 1 kiddie pool not true. They lied about everything

Bunch of arguing outside all night. Roach in the bathroom. Smell like smoke in the non smoking room.

I liked the place and the pool. Avery nice women name Areli she is friendly and kind very sweet to use. My kids had so much fun in the pool.

The room smells like someone was smoking inside, a lot of bugs :(

The bed felt like sleeping on medal and it was a roach and no trash can in the room . For the price of that room it was not worth my 266.00 dollars

Good location with stores and restaurants nearby. 20 min drive to beach. Now about the room. If you are looking for a clean room with clean comfy beds and a hot shower, this is the place you want to stay. However if you are bougie, a hotel snob or need fancy smancy place to sleep This is not the place for you. The rooms are older but very well kept and as stated above, clean ! As a bonus they have a nice size pool to kick back and relax in or splash around and have fun in. Will def recommend this hotel and will also definitely stay here again should I visit va beach again.

There were no aminities at all. The bed was like a box spring sat on a file cabinet and there were no fluffy anything at all. Every day there were bags of trash sitting by the steps I had to use to get to my room and the place looked like it was falling apart. The handrail wasn’t even attached to the steps anymore. That picture they show you is an absolute lie. For what I paid… you would have thought I paid for a hobo tent in Central Park. Never again will I stay at this place.

There was nothing to like. The non-smoking room smelled like smoke and air freshener.

Toilet not working properly. Did not get keys on time. Had to wait for 30 mins at night for check-in.

This place was very busy & unsafe for me & my 90 years old mom. Someone in the mid of the night keep knocking on the wrong door every night! It supposed to been non smoking room, all we smelled is weed everywhere. That was very crazy. We didn’t even have anyone clean our room for a whole week ! Had to keep asking for clean sheets & towels! Never ever would I stay there , even if it’s free.

Only the pool and the sushi restaurant next door.

This is a MOTEL not a Hotel. There were no amenities and no telephone in the room. The doors to the rooms are outside. The bed felt like a bale of hay. The knob to control the water flow in the tub was barely affixed and the water in the sink had to be slowly regulated to be turned on or you would get drenched.

I asked for a late check out, the girl working at the desk during the nighttime told me that I could check out at noon in the next day… Housekeeping wakes me up at 10:45 AM and tells me checkout is at 11… I explained I had a late checkout, they told me I was not on the list… I attempted to call the front desk, but guess what, there’s no phone in the room. So then I use my own phone and had to Google the number to call the front desk and they told me I would be charged an extra fee for a late checkout. I said no problem. I’ll just grab a shower and leave now. And guess what? I attempt to take a shower and the water does not work!! no water in the sink or the toilet or the shower this place sucks, do not stay here

Room smelled like an ashtray, cars on bricks in the parking lot, boards over broken windows. Looks like people live there, did not stay and hotel refused to refund any money. Do not recommend, does not look safe.

When we first entered our room the smell of cigarettes was absolutely terrible, as well as while I was trying to unpack my luggage I stepped on a live cockroach crawling around the carpet in the room, disgusting! Then when I went downstairs to change rooms when we got to our second room the door was already cracked open and it looked like someone had previously busted down the door and they “fixed” it with a piece of wood and the door had a gap in it when you closed it! At least the ac was working okay in the second room because the first room only blew out hot air. Absolutely would not stay here again.

This is by far The worst stay I’ve ever had the staff are not friendly like at all. They say you can have early check In but lie. Then when you ask for clean blankets they will tell at you and say they don’t have any. I walked into a MOTEL room that smelled like sex and cigarettes. The bathroom was filthy. The bed felt like I was sleeping on cardboard. Nothing about this room or stay was pleasant. Not safe either they have prostitution and crackheads that roam the property.

Pool was great Overpriced for the basic room, bed was hard and squeaky Generic shampoo and soap

The staff was wonderful

Room was dirty. The bolt on the door was broken. Listened to fighting all night. Had random people knocking on the door. Pregnant woman asking me for cigarettes.

We stayed there for two nights..we received our room it was a heavy smell of cigarettes…mind you I asked for a non smoking room.. so I went to front desk requested another room it was the same…the bed back board had hand prints all over it.. yeah gross! The tub was dirty.. the location was hood like.. over all experience was not good
