Hilton Grand Vacations Club Ocean Tower Waikoloa Village

There were no umbrellas at the pool to stay out of the sun so you couldn’t enjoy the pool very long and there was no microwave in our room which is standard at any property these days. I don’t appreciate having to pay for parking I didn’t see that as a separate charge or I would have checked elsewhere

The first disappointment was learning that the check-in isn’t actually where you leave your car so if you plan to leave the property for anything you have to wait 20 to 30 minutes for a tram or take a 20 minute walk through the property to even get to the valet- or your car… and it costs $50 to valet or $48 to Self Park for one night and hike all the way to where the tram will (eventually )take you to your room. Check-in is at 4 o’clock and what time does the pool bar close? 4 o’clock so if you’re only going for one night, don’t expect to have much fun at the bar by the pool. It’s supposedly non-smoking but people go out on their deck and smoke and we were smelling it morning and night. We couldn’t get out of there quick enough we were gone by seven in the morning there was nothing there for us to enjoy.

Overall is fine. We did enjoyed the resort !

The property is beautiful and the pools and slides are super fun, although slides are only open from 9-5 which is a bummer since guests arrive at 4pm. The rooms are ok, but could use renovating. The tram is a joke as it take more than 30 minutes for it to go from one side of the property to next which leaves guest to lug their luggage from one side to the other. And the only tram working was mostly not air-conditioned. No boats available any more. No water fill stations. Not much entertainment and just over all underwhelming for the price, including resort fees and parking costs. Unfortunate because it has so much potential!

Partial ocean view room was good. The valet parking staff was friendly and welcoming. Hotel bathrooms were clean. Big mix up when checking in. Even though I had the confirmation number for two rooms, the desk clerk kept insisting that she could only find one room booked. Another attendant finally had to come over and located both rooms. Check in took way too long and I felt I was being taken advantage of. I had asked for two rooms close together in advance. Got one on the third floor, the other on the sixth floor, far apart. It felt like it was done out of spite. The "ocean view" room was not as good as the "partial ocean view" room. (We had booked two rooms for visitors we had brought with us.) Broken lock on the balcony door. No microwave in the rooms. Friends on the sixth floor had to come down to the third floor to use the only microwave, very small, for all of the Ocean Tower, near the ice machine. Unattended, unruly local kids were dropped off by their parents (no wrist bands) and we're extremely loud and rowdy in the pool and especially in the Jacuzzi. No staff members enforced the "rule" of required bands (given at check in), nor intervened about excessive bad behavior by unattended children. The boys admitted they lived nearby and just come to "swim." It made other guests there very uncomfortable, including my husband and myself. Also, the jacuzzi water was not hot. It was barely warm. Our mainland friend strolled onto the grass and was bit by fire ants! Unacceptable. The tram was excessively slow, and only one was operating, probably due to the crash they experienced earlier this year. The boats were not in operation. No explanation as to why was given when I inquired at the front desk, so I assumed it was due to the predicted hurricane Nolo. I found out from another guest (who had connections) the day we were leaving that the boats wouldn't be running for four more months due to renovations in the Ocean Tower to convert hotel rooms into time share condos. This was not what we expected from a Hilton property stay.

Way Too Big. Tram kept breaking down. Only two hot tubs on a 62 acre property. And this are lukewarm tubs.

It was a nice property. Room was clean although there was no cleaning service while we were there. Had to ask for clean towels. Room was far from the lobby and you need to take a tram because it is a long walk to the main lobby.

the view and location was really nice. The staff was not accommodating with the late flight to LAX. When asked to extend stay staff was rude and not helpful. Left luggage with staff and they left a 5000$ laptop in the sun when I explained to not leave this bag in the sun.

We had such a lovely beautiful stay here! The only downside would be how limited dining options are and if you stay in the ocean tower it’s a bit of a walk. The monorail is convenient for when you’re arriving with luggage but it does move at a glacial pace so it’s often faster to walk than wait & ride the monorail. Overall it was an amazing stay!

This once grand resort is fading into mediocrity which is a shame, based on the amazing setting and location. Hawaii doesn't make it easy on the hospitality industry either, despite its vital importance to the economy, but this jewel has great bones and potential. The rooms are spacious but very dated and worn. The train is so slow and infrequent that one should be prepared to walk the long distances from the rooms to the lobby. The staff were friendly and helpful but they cannot fully compensate for the unfortunate neglect of the property.

The staff was very helpful in finding us a similar room with just as lovely balcony, working ac and very clean. Our complaint regarding this issue is prior to asking for another room, the front desk was very insistent upon sending a technician to "fix" the ac. We did explain the ac had not cooled the room in several hours but also smelled electrical and we were not comfortable staying in that room. The grounds & pools were extremely clean. Nice views and gorgeous sunsets. Could use caution signs as the stones surrounding the pool area are extremely slippery when wet. My husband had a mishap down some wet stairs and is still recovering from a bruised tailbone. When arriving the valet personnel was helpful when approached. No one on hand to greet us, open doors or take luggage without asking. However, they are very accommodating after the fact. They delivered all our luggage and cooler to our room within minutes of calling for it after checking in. Bed was comfortable as are the pillows. The tram you can take around the property was a bonus, when it was operational. It was only down for half a day during our stay. It's a great way to get cool and relax to your next stop.

The property was something out of a dream. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay here!

The first room I had the air conditioning wasn't working. When I called down to the front desk to have it fixed they put in a work order for the wrong building. They finally moved me, but the next day the air conditioning in that room stopped working. The grounds of this hotel are beautiful but the hotel itself is old and run-down and not well maintained.

Room - dirty and toilet not working. Was moved to another room and the toilet was not working either. Staff was not helpful. Parking was expensive, food choices poor/expensive. Walking long distances to various parts of the resort. Just poor.

Very good

Arrived after 1:30 AM, very confusing to get to actual room. Surprised how dated the design and decor. Parking was nearly half a mile away, we traveled in a golf cart to get to building where room was located. We were able to get to bed around 2:30 AM. Tram to vehicle felt like we were in slow motion. Took approximately 30-40 minutes to get to main area where car was located. Too much to explain. It was a bed that was safe for eight hours, not much else. Better than sleeping in vehicle!
