Exceptional

I loved most things, the lagoon was a great idea since the beach was very rocky and not accessible for swimming
-
I toured the resort some years back and suffice to say I was thoroughly impressed as a guest.

The property used to be so stunning and beautiful and had many unique aspects to it. They removed the waterfall in the Kona pool and now there is no shaded and the element that made it so unique and beautiful is now gone. Now, the one pillar that is still left is used all day for kids to fight on. There was no shade anywhere all the umbrellas have been removed and if you want any type of shade, you have to pay for it by renting a cabana. The little store underneath the grotto that used to be open and have amazing Floaties and rentals and fill up all the kids toys is now closed and boarded up. The boat system that used to pick you up at the front lobby and be able to take you back to your room is now closed. The tram car was closed to the Makai building. There were just so many elements that used to make the property beautiful, and unique that don’t exist today.

Nice property, but very run down. Rooms are old, smelly and dirty. Rooms get cleaned every other day, but it’s more like a quick refresh. Hotel doesn’t offer many dining options and food is subpar. Everywhere closes early, pool is always out of towels. They don’t offer any complimentary water for the guests, not even at the pool. Tram only works on 1 side of the property. The staff is very friendly and helpful.

A few pieces that can be better. The AC in the room was not effective and several families had to ask the hotel staff for fans. The house keeping of the rooms were not clean always and you had to ask for decent cleaning of the rooms. The tram was functional only on part of the property and the boat canal was not working. Finally the food at KPC was super disappointing. Highly recommend skipping KPC in favor of better tasting and less expensive options elsewhere.

Manager Carter was very helpful.

I stayed in palace tower it’s nice and new however my pillows had a bad smell and out of the 4nights I stayed they only cleaned the room twice. Like everywhere there is good but not always perfect Appreciate the experience!! Would I return probably not

It was amazing!
-
Luau was lack luster. NOT the dancers they were great. The food was terrible, the venue was hot and no air felt like a swamp. Should consider having on a lawn on the beach with some fresh air. It definitely isn’t worth the price. Big disappointment

Refrigerator didn’t always stay cold

Beautiful property. We enjoyed our stay. My son’s favorite thing was the lagoon. We saw turtles, sea lion, fishes and string ray in the lagoon.

The property was beautiful but you can tell it needs a little TLC. The staff was friendly and the room was nice. Our favorite part was the Dolphin experience, lagoon and pool. I do think they need security or supervision at the pool in the evenings. Lots of older kids climbing all over the bridges and pool equipment to jump into the pool. It made night swimming kind of a bummer.

Lots of amenities. Very helpful staff! 5 stars!

Staff is great. Clean property but to get coffee, cold drinks is difficult. Too much walking and the tram functions at a snail pace, does not run frequently and is way too long. I suggest you make smaller trams that run every few minutes especially during peak hours

It’s a lovely place to stay at. Perfect for families. I loved the text messaging service, The responses were courteous, kind & prompt. All our needs were attended to. Thank you all at Hilton Waikoloa for a great vacation experience!

Beautiful hotel with amazing views! There is so much to do here, and it is extremely kid-friendly. We loved being able to snorkel right on-site and bring floaties to just kick back and relax. The pool water slides were fantastic and kept both the little ones and older kids thoroughly entertained!

PROS: 1. Nice hotel/resort. 2. Nice ocean area for swimming. Saw a lot of sea turtles. 3. Can catch the sunset from the property. 4. Clean rooms and staff always cleaning property. 5. Restaurants on site. CONS: 1. No ADA self parking close by. If you pay the $48 a day parking, the valet will park it for you and bring it back. 2. If you don’t get your pool/ lagoon towels early, you won’t get them at all. Seems like they don’t stock them all day long. 3. There is a ground level train/mono-rail to get you to your building, or you can walk about 5 to 10 minutes to your building/room. 4. You’ll have to drive a while to get tot the city (35 mins).

The property was big but not near a beach . Few good options. Everything closes early
