The two issues, I would point out are the access and the air conditioner. The access would be difficult for a disabled person. You have to bring your bags up and down a lot of steps to get into the hotel. There is an elevator but it's very old and small. I don't see an elderly person or a disabled person being able to operate the elevator due to the way the elevator door and retractable gate open and close. I think it would be very difficult with a baby or for someone in a wheelchair or walker. It goes with the age of the property, so I don't see how it could be upgraded without spending a fortune on it. The second issue, which is what really affected my stay was that it only has a window air conditioning unit which did not work well to keep the room cool. It was extremely hot and humid while I was there and the entire time, I was in my room it was uncomfortably hot. I felt like I was trapped, whether I was outside or inside, in the heat. The room was fine, otherwise. It had a nice sized room and bathroom. I don't think I will go back, though.

Baron Hotel Washington DC earns three stars. The room was decent but could use several updates, including a new carpet, a cabinet or dresser for clothes storage, a modernized TV, and coffee-making amenities. Cleaning service was good, and the hotel kept the room tidy throughout my stay. The elevator felt very old, likely dating back over 50 years, which was a noticeable downside. I stayed on the top floor, which was quiet most of the time, though I was occasionally woken by medical or police sirens nearby. Overall, a solid mid-range option that could benefit from a few modernization touches. If you’d like, I can tailor this for a different tone (more positive or more critical), or format it as a longer review with a sectioned layout.

For the location and price you really can’t beat it. It’s an older hotel, but that adds to the mystique. It’s also connected to bar that often features top comedians. In staying there this last week the AC was a blessing! The staff there is amazing and my room was cleaned well after returning from work. The Baron Hotel is an A+ in my book!

This is a great hotel if you are going to the comedy show, which is what we did. The staff at the bar and the comedy club were so friendly. It is a older hotel but has alot of charm. We enjoyed it.

Straightforward and affordable place in a convenient part of DC. Perfect for short trips.
-
Great location! Very affordable and our room was very clean and nice..

It's alright, small but gets the job done, and it's a good location, we were really close to the Dupont Metro Station. But it's bare bones, like no amenities, just a place to sleep at night.
-
Excellent, I loved the hotel, location, and the service. I forgot to ask for a restaurant in the hotel.

The hotel was affordable, clean, and near the metro. However, there was no communication available until the day of check in. The hotel telephone doesn't seem to be working because I tried calling it throughout the day, but it was a dropped busy signal. I didn't get a response through their email or through the Expedia app either. It's good for what it was, a place to sleep, but if you have questions or want to verify something, there's no way of communicating to them unless in person. On the other plus side, the staff were friendly.
-
One star for location and one for friendly staff. Not recommended unless you can't find any other. Even the bar is closed

Great location, nice and clean.
-
It's old and rundown. You can literally hear the person(s) in the room next to you.

Our room was good and clean, but the building could be much better if goes through a renovation of walls and carpet.
-
The room was quite old, the beds were uncomfortable, and the A/C was incredibly noisy. I’m not sure the carpets get cleaned often. The elevators are the older ones with manual doors, which can be a bit unsettling. The shower was decent, and the bathroom looked clean. If you’re really stuck, this place will do, but just be prepared for a few low expectations.

Staff was great. Kind and accommodating. Building is a little dated but has cool decor/vibes and is solid for the price and location/accessibility

all except the failure to clean the room daily and change the bedsheets. all except the failure to clean the room daily and change the bedsheets.
-
Great location. Near a Metro stop and restaurants. Half hour walk to Lincoln memorial
