Really nice helpful staff and great location

The hotel is at a great location, but my only major complaint were the unexpected charges to my credit card after I checked out. And you have to pay for the WiFi, which was entirely unexpected.

On July 4, I arrived at the Washington Marriott at approximately 1:00 p.m. to check in. I was informed that my room was not yet available. Since Marriott guarantees room availability by 4:00 p.m., I waited until then, but my room was still not ready. By around 5:00 p.m., after waiting for nearly four hours, I became frustrated and called the Marriott Bonvoy customer service line. The representative placed me on hold for about five minutes and was somehow able to make my room available immediately. This raises concerns about why the room could not have been provided earlier without my having to contact customer service. Unfortunately, the problems continued during check-in. The front desk associate failed to activate my key card for Club Lounge access, even though I had paid for Club Level accommodations. I also was not informed about the amenities and benefits included with my seven-night stay or those covered by the resort fee. As a result, I was unaware of services and benefits that I had already paid for. This was, by far, the worst check-in experience I have ever had at a Marriott property. After being a loyal Marriott Bonvoy member, I expected a much higher level of service. Waiting nearly four hours beyond my arrival, having to call customer service to obtain a room, and experiencing additional check-in errors made for a very disappointing.

Overall great stay in DC. Marriott was nice, quiet, perfect for this trip.

Older hotel that does a good job. Good location, an hour walk to all the attractions. Would be nice if they had a pool or access to one.

Excellent choice Great staff!

The stay was not good from start to finish. The hotel scammed us with parking. Parked at the hotel for less than 2 hours and got charged for a full day. We were refunded for the hours not in the parking garage. Then we stayed again at the garage for less than 12 hours, and we were charged again for 2 full day fees. The first time, they said it was due to a machine malfunction. However, the second day speaking to a different receptionist, she was clearly being deceptive and firm with us. The hotel robs you. It was also a dirty hotel. There were roaches outside the entrance, and in the hallway of the rooms we were in- which were already considered business rooms (more quiet, less floors). It was dark and dingy with little lighting in the hallways and in the room itself. The price of the hotel was not worth it. I found cheaper and higher rated places. The location of this area doesn’t compensate for the hotel service and stay itself, as there were little to places to go walking distance.
