Southland Casino Hotel

Very safe

Very nice hotel and casino. Staff are awesome and lots of security for safety.

The Hotel and casino were very nice. On our initial arrival I would say the parking lot was kind of littered etc. , however I did see it being cleaned up each morning - it seems that some of the guests just need to be respectful and use the garbage cans rather than throwing out in parking lot. I also noticed a lot of security driving through the lot which made it feel much more secure. This was unlike any other hotel or casino in which your bags were checked by a dog and security, had to go through metal detectors and also I’d and facial recognition. I suppose that adds to the sense of security. Check in was easy and receptionist was nice and pleasant. Hotel room was very nice and clean. There is a refridge but no microwave to heat leftovers. We ate at the buffet one night - staff was pleasant, priced a bit high for available options but overall decent options. Main casino is very big, with lots of gaming choices and lots of fun machines! This side is all non smoking. The smoking side is a very small room, boxed in with not the best selection. Overall nice hotel and casino.

Okay I love the police and everything but being sniffed down by drug dog after a 6 hour drive, after working all day is not a vacation or fun or relaxing. I came to relax and get out town for a day or two and this experience checking in was almost like checking into a 5 star prison. Just gave off bad vibes right at the start. My husband and I obviously didn’t have any drugs but it was still uncomfortable. Probably won’t stay again.

Room and casino was clean and a decent size. Staff is very nice.

Southland has great staff very friendly the casino is just amazing that was my first time ever going I had a amazing time and the rooms are just beautiful and very comfortable so I give them 10 stars

Rooms are spacious and very clean the entire staff of the hotel, casino and restaurants were very generous and respectful. It was our first stop on our trip and no other place even came close to the enjoyment we had at Southland.

My daughter and I had been driving for over 14 hours from Colorado on our way to Miami, Florida. We booked Southland Hotel Casino in Memphis simply so we could get a few hours of sleep and safely continue our drive the next morning. When we arrived, the employee at the hotel entrance checked my daughter’s ID. He clearly saw that she was 19 and even loudly joked, “You are 19 years old and can’t drink.” Despite knowing her age, the hotel allowed us to check in and gave us a room. We went upstairs, changed into our pajamas, and went to bed. We were there simply to sleep after an exhausting 14-hour drive. Then, around 1:00 a.m., someone knocked loudly on our door. It was a security officer with two police officers, telling us that because my daughter was under 21, we had to leave the hotel immediately. We were shocked and extremely upset. The hotel staff had already checked her ID and knew exactly how old she was before allowing us to check in. If there was an age restriction, why didn’t they tell us before taking our money and giving us a room? What made this even worse was that nobody seemed to care that it was 1:00 in the morning and that we had been driving for more than 14 hours. We were escorted out of the hotel with no apology, no alternative room, no voucher, and absolutely no assistance finding another place to stay. We had to find another hotel in the middle of the night and pay an additional $60 because of

Everything was top notch. One of the nicest rooms we have ever stayed in. Will highly recommend.

They stay was great

Price was a little to high for my wife and i to stay again. The outlets in the room didnt work when we arrived but they did get them fixed pretty quick.

Room looked clean but carpet had a foul odor.

I’ve had cheaper options with better soap and body wash please get some dove products

Plenty of parking as there is a very large, open parking lot and a parking garage Lots of security The casino is connected to the hotel with separate entrances You have to walk through a metal detector and a guard dog to make sure no one is bringing in weapons I ate at the buffet, which was very nice, the room was very clean. There was a safe there as well. Mini fridge in the room with the TV. But there’s no microwave. That shows me they want you to buy their food. Also, there is a free soda fountain stations throughout the casino. That’s a nice touch. I never seen before and plenty of free water and bottles in the room. Staff was very friendly and nice and check-in was very easy

Everything. It was clean. Comfortable and the staff were lovely. They can work on the fitness room more.
