History of the place

Two drawbacks: The AC unit made a lot of noise turning off and on. Sounded like the door was being opened and closed. The other thing was there was not much soundproofing between the bedrooms. I could hear the guy sneeze in the next room and it wasn’t that obnoxious kind of loud sneeze. Could hear people out in the hallway quite easily.

I learned of this policy only after booking via phone call, as they did not respond to my online message until 3 days after I left it. Cab/uber fare is well over $100 each way to/from LGA. No refund was issued. Maybe this complaint will encourage them to review their listing or discourage you from booking under false pretenses. They don’t have to serve the city hotels, that’s fine. BUT should not give the impression they do via their booking sites. Seemed like a beautiful place to stay but I wasn’t interested in nearly doubling my out of pocket costs to get there.

It was good but there needs to be outlets in next to the desk. Poor layout or design. Bathroom shower had a good idea but didn’t make sense half the time

I liked everything about the hotel from the ease of checking in to all members of staff. The only issue i had was that I ordered room service one morning and it took an unusual long time to receive the food and when I did receive it the food was cold. Other than that I had an incredible stay.

Overall it was clean and quiet

The Sonesta felt like a mirage in a desert only it was actually real. During what was one of the worst weeks of my life the Sonesta provided solid comfort to help me get through. The staff (from the front desk, the bar, room service) was friendly, empathetic and so very helpful. Forever grateful- I highly recommend the Sonesta White Plains.
