Kingsmill Resort

Unfortunately the suite we stayed in smelled like smoke and was dirty. The place below us was also blasting music at night which I understand was not the resorts fault. There were also stains all over the curtains and fruit flies. When I messaged the front desk they just said they’d look into it. Very disappointed. We also couldn’t use the indoor pool one of the days because of the hours and the playground was off limits to guests. We had a great meal at Eagles but other than that the stay was not great.

I had a wonderful stay, it was quiet and peaceful. I was really happy I was able to really rest.

We enjoyed the property. We choice the room on expedia website expecting one of the larger room apartment style rooms but we ended up with a smaller hotel room. You have to pay an extra fee if you want a 1 bedroom room. Wasn't fully clear based on pictures. We could hear the other guest at night. Visited the eagle restaurant. Staff were very pleasant and accommodating. The light fixtures outdide above the tables has lots of spider web's. Need to be cleaned. The room was clean. Air conditioner was noisy. Enjoyed our stay otherwise. Gym and pools were great. The pump for the lazy river and hot tubs were not on, but sgaun still enjoyed our stay.

Had a really wonderful stay. Every member of the staff were extremely accommodating and genuinely kind. My only complaint would be that the rooms themselves can use some updating. Smart tvs. USB ports and updated decor. It rained 2 of the 3 days staying so being stuck in the room without streaming abilities was challenging. Everything was clean.

Upon arrival our room was filled with insects and spider webs. Given that the resort was full we could not switch rooms. The next morning we were offered another room but not comparable to the condo. Housekeeping than came in and wiped things down and the first night was taken care off. My children loved the pool and the activities. Be sure to check your bill when checking out we had a restaurant charge of 180.00 when we didn't even eat there. I am hoping these were isolated incidents.

We arrived at 10.15 pm due to car problems. Tried to call them to advise of our lateness but all numbers went through to a call centre who did not answer. Everything was closed so there was no food or drink available and the receptionist was unhelpful. There wasn't even bottled water in our room. Vending machines were shown on the map provided but only ice machines were available. Very little information provided about the amenities. Our windows were filthy and there was mould around the basin tap. Squeaky floorboards. Beautiful grounds and views of the river. Overall, very disappointing - a hotel that promises a lot but does not deliver.

Great stay

Very nice resort with friendly staff in most areas. Wonderful pool area at the spa Room was comfortable but found a little mold in the bottom plastic part of the shower doors and some corners. Bathroom floors were not very clean and the carpet could use a deep steam clean. Nice lazy river but of course, it got too crowded labor day weekend. The Mill had very good food and drinks and sweet staff- great $2 ice cream deal . Kitchen in the room was nicely stocked. The food at the seafood restaurant was sub par and poor value for the money. Much better food off the resort. Was there for my child's PGA junior league regionals and it was alot of fun.

I was told "No." Some of the employees act like you are bothering them at the front desk. The facility isn't as clean or maintained as previous years. The food has certainly taken a step backwards. It used to feel luxurious. Now I feel like Dunkin breakfast would be better. The fruit isn't real or ripe enough. The food is not to standard. The best part is the omelet station with the sweet lady. Although, even those eggs taste different. It's not enough to stop us from going. However, Kingsmill set yourself apart and turn back to your old quality ways. Quality over quantity.

The amenities were excellent. Staff were very nice. My only complaint was the accumulation. We opted for a condo over a hotel room since it was a special occasion. It appears we were put in an animal friendly condo as we were surrounded by people with dogs, and the furnishings inside were old. The sliding glass door didn’t lock, the WiFi didn’t work in the bedroom, the television remote didn’t work, and the bedroom was warm as the A/C vent was small and didn’t cool the room. Given the price that we paid, it was very disappointing.

Cockroach in the bathroom, broken lock, no Netflix, pool closed early (8pm) so did restaurants, cobwebs and bugs everywhere, blood on switches, stained towels, no garbage bags, sink had hole, bathtub had weird gaping hole at wall. This is not a 4star hotel.

3rd summer here. Staff always polite and friendly.

There were ants in room very dated, called staff they came over and sprayed kitchen with pesticide very carelessly.

Great family spot lots to explore .

Food was just okay.

Lovely resort with modern facilities (excellent gym, good pools, bike rentals, WiFi). All staff were excellent - from waitresses in the James Landing restaurant, gym staff, reception staff and maintenance guys. Had a few maintenance issues in the condo but they were sorted very quickly. The only downside was our accommodation (1 bed condo) was quite old fashioned .. would benefit from modernisation.

This place is super gorgeous and fun, but it does need some upgrades. The condo we stayed in was very small (double beds) and we could hear both the dog and the conversation in the next room over. It didn't really feel private, and the dog was super annoying because it barked or whined extensively during the day and at night. I called/texted the concierge, but they wanted me to figure out which room it was instead of looking on their own map. I complied, but it wasn't easy for me to figure out which condo it was because the layout was odd. The concierge was polite, but he didn't seem to care that this was affecting our stay. (If a Pro Golfer were staying there and complained about noise, I'm pretty sure they wouldn't ask them to check the property and figure it out.) Things like ice and beverages weren't easily accessible due to the condo layout. The lobby was beautiful, but the shop inside was closed by 9pm. The rooms need new carpet and upgrading and the mattresses felt cheap. The pools and gym were all amazing.

The rooms are dated and if You look with a little focus you start to see how dated. The caulk in the tub is gray and loose. The furniture has stains. The tv is not setup with streaming. The floors creek very loudly that it kept us awake from the people above us waking around late at night. Most Staff were friendly and attentive. Some were a bit strange and were not the warmest at the fitness center and pool.
