The location of of property was perfect for my needs

Our King room was pretty big and was comfortable enough. Not that fancy for this price range. Also, no complementary coffee in the lobby and no complementary breakfast. Really? We have been on the road for 22 days now and Ballast is the only hotel that did not provide complementary coffee and a refer and microwave. I raised these concerns with the manager and to be fair, he reduced my bill by $50 which seems about right. We would probably not visit Ballast again. Nor would we recommend it to our friends.

There was also a coffee station in the hotel, but each time I stopped by to get coffee, the attendants had a sign posted indicating they had stepped away, so I was unable to get coffee during my stay. The room itself was clean and comfortable, although the shower and shower drain could have used a more thorough cleaning. Overall, my stay was very nice, and the staff I interacted with were pleasant and helpful. However, considering the amount spent, there were several areas where the service and attention to detail could have been improved.

Location Standard pillows on king bed and housekeeping knocking on door at 9am when checkout is at 11am

This place is rather dated and needs several upgrades in the rooms. The sinks are very shallow, no vanity space at. Needs new paint. Staff is friendly and very welcoming. Overall good location close to River walk, battle ship, downtown shops, and the convention center.

This was our second time staying here. We have been overly impressed both times. Walking distance to alot of things, clean rooms and friendly staff. We love this place.

Had a great experience. Staff was amazing and the place was clean. I will say that the property needs some work. I realize that it’s on the coast and the elements can be rough, however, laying at the pool, the overhangs were worn and rotted, torn in places and missing in others. This continued to the self parking portico. Would stay here again but surely wouldn’t pay $500 per night again.

We did not have breakfast The room was good the floor needed to be cleaned a little more and the bathroom Was a little dated . Also need a little more storage to put bag on in closet.

Outdated hotel and musty smell. Carpets needed cleaning.

The furniture and rugs throughout need to be replaced. Things seemed worn out. The hotels location is amazing!

Great location-friendly staff-excellent breakfast

The staff was very friendly. The room was clean and welcoming. The bathroom definitely catered to shorter folks as the toilet and sink felt like they were 6-10 inches lower than the standard. Otherwise though, a really great place to stay in an ideal location to make a lot of local restaurants and shops walkable. I'll definitely stay there again!

A very nice hotel with a great location right on the riverfront in the middle of the historic district. Love the fact that it has a good size pool and a nice bar onsite. Would definitely stay here again.
