Courtyard by Marriott Winston - Salem Downtown

The rooms are updated, clean and more than expected for a quick overnight stop.

$15 per day parking fee that was not disclosed at check-in. Water pressure was a trickle and hot water took 3-5 minutes to appear. Bed had a lumbar 'hole' that caused severe back pain causing me to check out early. Mentioned it to the desk clerk at exit.

My check in was 3 hrs after standard check in and I was traveling so I couldn’t wash and I wasn’t getting back until late. I basically wasted money on a room. I didn’t even receive accommodations.

The surrounding area is not the best, although I’m not sure there is really a great area to stay right in downtown.

Fecal matter on the toilet seat. When brought up to front desk, they said they were the only one working so they couldn’t leave and go do it but third shift would start at 11pm. On a Saturday night, you have ONE person on staff and allow people to go into rooms with fecal matter on the toilet seats? Also saw roaches when we visited the rooftop bar.

There was a shortage of staff over holiday weekend, so some amenities (morning coffee bar, rooftop bar) were closed early on Sunday.

Would give 4.5 stars VERY GOOD! Awesome staff 5+ stars; pricey amenities Celsius was >$7; poor climate control. Overall will def be back!!!

The Front Desk clerk was great. the day time restaurant was great

All the staff we encountered was so wonderful to me and my hubby, Rochelle at the front desk went above and beyond and John also was amazing Nothing we loved the hotel

Staff was friendly, facility was nice. My room was located directly under the gym, the noise of weights hitting the floor started early in the morning. The mattress was also lumpier that I would have liked.

Parking lot attendant and front desk staff were helpful and attentive. Not anything I can think of.

Great experience here. The staff was friendly and helpful. The hotel was clean and comfortable and it was nice to be downtown where we could stop at a great bakery up the street.
