The location was safe and right along the water. They tried to scam us with the pet fee. We were initially told our small dog would cost $220 for our 4-night stay and which was way more than we can afford. Were told there was nothing they could do to reduce it. After we managed to get the money together, I noticed a posted notice stating the pet fee was $20. When I questioned the $220 charge, the amount was changed to $80. After a 12-hour drive and arriving late at night with our 3-year-old, this was an extremely upsetting experience. Guests should be clearly told the correct pet fee upfront.

Location was great for being close to Oakland and near SF. View from balcony was great. Room was cleaned and stocked daily. Plenty of parking. Neighborhood was nice and quiet and great for taking a jog or walking. Stores were nearby but needed a car to get to. Weather was wonderful for sitting out where the pool used to be. The staff was very accommodating if we needed anything. The buildings are dated on the exterior but not dangerous. The room and hallways and lobby were fresh and updated and ADA accessible. Small issue with the TV that we got help with from the manager. Rooms could use some closet space for hanging clothes. Could hear other residents but barely. Some families with children might not like that the swimming pull had been concrete over, but didn't bother us.

The front desk staff were exceptionally friendly, especially Kevin. He was very friendly and polite. Vic was also professional.

There was an issue with my door lock which was promptly fixed after I reported it. I loved the free parking. The only strange thing was there were no clothes hangers in the room. I inquired about this, and was told there are no hangers. So I just folded my clothes for the six night I was there. Safe travels.

Clean, large room with a porch right near the marina. The sliding door to the bathroom was flimsy and did not suggest privacy. It wasn't secured on the lower end and tended to shut with a loud noise.

The only problem we had was with the wifi; it was a bit spotty. For us, this was not a problem as I have a mobile hotspot that filled in. Since my hotspot wasn't as fast as normal, I suspect this was a issue with overall cell phone coverage in the locale.
