Jack London Inn

The location is perfect for me for overnight events nearby. I was hoping there would be phone charging stations. No charging outlets.

Good

Location was great The place is super busy. A lot of coming and going, doors slamming, people in the hallways at all times of the day and night.

Breakfast was adequate. Parkng is free. Staff was helpful. It was a low-cost choice and if this place fits your budget then stay here. They allow pets so if an occasional barking dog does not bother you, your good. Walls are paper-thin, therefore you will hear most noises. The security is good! I never felt unsafe. And yes they need upgrades on the room furniture and bathroom remodels would help.

The pictures are not true to what you experience at the hotel. There is no security. The room was disgusting and not livable. The toilet didn't flush. The AC did not work. When I tried to leave and get a refund they told me that because I was in the room longer than 20 minutes I couldnt get my money back. I was taking pictures of the room to be able to show them how unsanitary it was. Don't stay here.

What I’m going to write about is the honest truth. I know travelers write great positive reviews because that’s what they experienced. I had issues with checking in to the Jack London Inn. My cards when no used them declined instantly. I ran it again, and the same thing happened. I don’t know why but I suspect the lady hit the credit button instead of the debit card and that’s what made it decline. That’s my guess but my overall experience was safe, clean , and and friendly staff . The morning breakfast is simple (fruit, cereal , orange juice, waffles , and coffee. Something to get you up and going in the morning. I will be back and tell your fr to book rooms it’s in Jack London Square across from Scott’s Seafood Restaurant. Walking distance from 12th st. BART

Disappointing

Can't say I like anything about the hotel. I booked it for the location to the train station. The hotel is dirty, the decor really needs addressing not only in the room but corridor as well. The fridge in the room had been unplugged which caused the carpet to be wet and smelt. The pictures featured in the advert are nothing like the actual room. I booked a king non smoking room, but you could smell weed ! Also the trains go past the hotel almost every hour sounding their air horn

I would prefer to sleep in a cardboard box under a bridge than stay at the Jack London Hotel again. I rented a room towards the end of my stay I was in bed and a bedbug was under the sheets with me. I found out that the room they rented to me was next door to a room that was infested with bed bugs and everything was striped from and removed from the room the hotel was prohibited from renting that room by the health department But they rented me a room next door to that infested room . I had bites all over my arms. I was in the elevator and another guest approached me and said oh my gosh your arms I said nothing the guest than says those are bed bug bites I had the same thing I got here he proceeds to tell me how dirty the hotel is and the cockroach problem the bed bug problem I listened the elevator door opened I left. The next day the General Manager of the hotel threw me out of the hotel and banned me for listening to the guest in the elevator about bed bugs

YOU ARE BETTER OFF SLEEPING IN YOUR CAR, THEN SLEEPING HERE. THE PLACE HAS ROACHES, HORRIBLE SMELL, RUDE EMPLOYEES, AND VERY RUDE MAINTENANCE MAN, ALSO PROSTITUTES ARE AVAILABLE HERE!!

Excellent location for Jack London Square. The room had no working a/c

Disappointing

Staff was excellent. Property was doing maintenance so appearance was still okay. Breakfast could been better but all around it was a nice stay.

Its cheap for a reason, there are better places to waste your money.

The ease of checking in It was very dirty and loud

Not very clean, shower looked terrible with peeling paint and calk, no drain cover, and a big bug. The room had peeling paint and white touched-up paint areas over gray painted walls. Bed was ok and linens were clean but the train was pretty loud nearby. Very questionable but sufficient when I needed it.

The place was dirty and it smelled horrible. We had cockroaches in the room. Didn't even stay for 10 minutes. Asked for a refund. No help. They pushed their refund policy. And the policy won't work when you have literal bio hazard in the rooms you had to stay. Terrible place. Save your money and time. Avoid at all cost.

Bad

Rooms are spacious but and beds are comfortable. Free parking and close to the city. Very close to the jack London square. Cons: Building structure is old. The room I stayed had cracks on the ceiling and floors were all scratched. Restrooms are not well constructed. Shower water spreads on the Vinay flooring. Restroom door makes loud noise while opening. Main door has gaps and the corridors get too noisy in the night. There is a train track literally attached to the hotel causing loud noises very frequently in the day time. Windows open fully and is a danger to the kids as there can be accidental fall.

Not clean, patches on walls, peeling paint, strange smelling room, cigarette and weed odor in hallways, sketchy people in parking area, sidewalk encampments all around, loud freight and Amtrak trains on street in front of hotel blowing the horn all night, Strange night for all of us
