Exceptional

Only used the restaurant for breakfast and it was delicious. The waitstaff was friendly.

I booked my room with a food credit but the hotel charged me for the food and refuses to adhere to the Expedia package.

We did not like the walk to the Jack London area. Dangerous area with nasty stinky areas. Not impressed at all for downtown Oakland. Really ruined the area.

Nice hotel, Neighbors were a little bit loud. You can hear the door slammed often. Parking overnight is $46. There's garage parking no parking on the street.

They stole my head set when I moved from one room to another

Housekeeping and front desk staff fabulous. Bed is uber comfortable. Bathroom and shower are excellent. We were upgrading to a view room on the 14th floor with a chaise lounge I adore. Amenities include a refrigerator and in-room coffee (or tea) pot. There is a 2nd floor bar and restaurant, as well. The property is walking distance to City Hall and Walgreen, and, in the other direction, some kitschy shops, fun places for coffee, a few good restaurants, a food hall, and China Town where, on Fridays, there is a lively and colorful farmers market. Also, it is just across the street from the BART station.

Excellent location. Good food. The room fridge cannot be unplugged. The intermittent noise/vibration made sleep impossible.

Very disappointing experience. We arrived around 7 PM, but our room still wasn’t ready. When we asked the staff for assistance, their attitude came across as annoyed and unwelcoming, which made an already frustrating situation worse. Because our room wasn’t ready, we had to get ready in the bathroom instead. After a long day of traveling, we expected a much smoother check-in experience, especially from a Marriott property. Overall, the service and experience did not meet expectations.

My first time staying at this hotel. checked in close to 8pm. We noticed a wash cloth on the floor after getting inside the room and noticed a black sock underneath the bed. Other perks and amenities were good.
