Location They advertise continental breakfast no breakfast. They said all they had was coffee and no coffee

I want to knowing that we would be staying in an older downtown building. I did expect it to be a little less comfortable than it was. I was pleasantly surprised. And the bed was super comfortable. What I did like about the layout of the room was that it was more like a sweet with two separate rooms. So my husband and I weren't getting in each other's way while trying to dress for an event. The banquet room where are event was being held was very roomy. With a nice size dance floor. I cannot remember the bartender's name there young lady brunette hair was amazing. Two thumbs up to her. A great time was definitely had by all On your website it says that you have a continental breakfast available. Once we checked in the young lady at the check-in desk was very pleasant and explained that yes, they did offer a continental breakfast. However the next morning when my husband went to grab coffee and pastries for us we found that there was actually no continental breakfast at all. Just coffee. No big deal but they should take it off the website if you're not offering it and people are expecting it. It kinda rubs some folks the wrong way. But there were plenty of good eateries not far away from there.

It's very comfortable and the suite was just enough room for me. There are food options near by and it's location was perfect for what I was there to do. I just wish the bar was open. At least for happy hour, but I get why it isn't. So much has changed since COVID. The rooms are also a little dated and could use a touch up, but I like the place a lot and stay there frequently.

Dangerous location Dirty place

Staff was nice and helpful. Provided lots of recommendations when requested. No AC in the rooms. It wasn't too hot during my stay but I wouldn't stay here in the summer.
-
The location the heritage of the hotel Bar not open on all days, few if the things like plugs switches were ageing. Breakfast options very limited. The wash Basin was outside with the bedroom than inside the bathroom.

There was nothing good about this hotel. It's in a sketchy location. It was dirty. The carpet was sticky. It smelled bad. But worst of all was the incredibly rude staff. Offensively hostile. Would ask you one question and then interrupt you with another. I got an email at the last minute before I arrived saying if I didn't arrive by 10pm, they couldn't guarantee my stay (but it turned out the hotel was EMPTY). I called to say I would be arriving at 10:30pm and asked about the email. The manager denied having sent it, but it came through Booking.com, so I know they sent it. He said he didn't know anything about it and just said they were open 24 hours and hung up on me. The woman at the desk passed me on the way in as she left to smoke a cigarette. I stood at the counter waiting. Incredibly unprofessional and hostile. I think she sent the email because she has nothing better to do than torture customers. "Continental" breakfast was a joke. AVOID!!!

I liked the name of the hotel. Washington Inn. The "Washington Inn" was disappointing for several reasons. The hotel was dirty, had a strong, unpleasant odor, and did not feel safe. Despite the expectation of breakfast, there was only coffee and a few pre-packaged snacks in the lobby. Additionally, we were misled about the parking situation, being told it was free, only to discover it was complimentary only until 8 AM, after which we were charged. Overall, the experience was far below our expectations, especially given the cost.

Quiet, old historic building still in good shape, baby grand piano in the lobby available for guests to play. (I'm a piano player.) Breakfast was just some pre-wrapped pastries, but there are other food options within walking distance, including City Cup, a breakfast burrito place two blocks away (small blocks) and Sweetgreen, 1 block away, with bowls ala Chipotle, but with a myriad of choices for ingredients. Seems like a safe neighborhood, at least during daylight hours. Sunset isn't till 8PM in the summer. Elevator only fits two people, but if you're healthy, the stairs are good for you! Some might not like the fact that, in my room, the bathroom sink was in the room with the bed, but the upside is two people can be using the facilities at the same time.

not not a corporate owned sterile hotel. Instead it’s a unique old school gem in downtown Oakland. Sure it can use some new carpets and a this and that upgrade, however i love the place just as it is. Has everything i need, easy access, very friendly staff, and comfort maybe upgrade the room carpets in the near future, but it’s still good enough for now

Quiet No parking

Good location The first room given to me had a clogged drain in the bathroom. But they upgraded my room without additional cost. Thankful for that.

It was close to my destination and there were places to eat around the area. Thank goodness it was only one night. The building was very, very old. I really don't think my room had been cleaned thoroughly, just the bed made and surfaces barely wiped down. What I really did not like was the aloofness of the young lady. behind the desk, as she had no personality at all and made me feel unwelcome, but she maybe was having a bad day.
