I recently stayed in the King Suite at the Argus Hotel and had a very enjoyable experience overall. The hotel was easy to access using the entry code, making check-in simple and convenient. The self-serve breakfast was a nice touch, although I have a few suggestions that could make it even better. Adding a self-serve waffle or pancake maker would be a great addition, and offering breakfast sandwiches that guests could heat in the toaster oven or microwave would provide a heartier option. The room itself was very comfortable. The bed was incredibly soft and felt like sleeping on a cloud. The pillow selection was nice, with two soft pillows and two firmer ones to accommodate different preferences. The deep soaking tub was amazing, and the separate walk-in shower was equally enjoyable. The water got wonderfully hot, making for a relaxing bath after a long day. To elevate the King Suite experience even further, I would suggest upgrading to a larger refrigerator, adding a Keurig coffee maker, providing bath mats outside the tub and shower, and including robes. These amenities would make the suite feel even more elevated, luxurious and boutique. Another upgrade is to have a tv available in the bedroom area mounted to a corner wall so that the guests can lay in bed and watch TV instead of only being able to view the smaller TV near the couch further away. The one area that could use improvement is housekeeping. I noticed that the shampoo and body wash bottles in the shower had accumulated orange residue and grime, and I had to wipe them down before using them. At a rate of around $250 per night, guests expect spotless, pristine accommodations, so paying closer attention to details like these would go a long way toward enhancing the overall experience. Overall, I had a wonderful stay and would gladly return. With a few thoughtful upgrades and more attention to housekeeping, the Argus Hotel could provide an even more exceptional boutique hotel experience. The breakfast area could have been stocked with additional fruit like more clementines, apples and items like dried cranberries, pepitas and granola for Greek yogurt bowls for guests to enjoy.

Able to walk to Washington Park. Perfect location for food and entertainment. Staff was friendly and knowledgeable about the area, able to make recommendations for food and places to go. There wasn’t anything I didn’t like about the property.

Good location. Quaint The room was small and the walls were thin.

Exceptional

Compared to corporate hotels, this property had lots of character.
-
I loved everything about this hotel. The bar was refined and friendly and the open 24 hours breakfast with yummy wholesome choices was a welcome touch! Not a thing, everything was wonderful!
-
The place was very beautiful and easy to find. Ample parking. It was very hot in the rooms and musty carpeting.
-
It was clean, quiet, and had a cute, cozy look. The pastries were clearly store-bought and the cocktails were extremely overpriced. $15 for a kettle one (vodka) and tonic. The bed and pillows were not very comfortable. The room was extremely small.
