The Morgan State house is a combination of rooms in the main brownstone or in the building two buildings down (where we stayed). The main building is a beauty and open to all guests and serves a complementary breakfast every morning. In addition the lovely rear garden is also available. The other building is a lovely pre-war former apartment building with all the period features that you would expect along with convenient upgrades. The bed, linens and pillows were probably the best hotel sleeping experience I have ever had. The Morgan State House is in a great location and walking distance to fun restaurants. The staff was A+.

We had two beautiful nights at the Morgan State House. Our room overlooked the park. Spacious - double doors opened to the shower, with a sink on each side. Check in was easy. Our room was very clean and tidy. Parking was $10 a night and was located a block away, but two hour parking in front of the hotel was easy for loading and unloading. The continental breakfast was standard - kept us energized for the day ahead. For the money spent, it was a great value.

The two building situation was confusing, and the front has a VERY small sign, making it hard to find. This is an urban location, despite the beautiful garden pictures. Parking is not convenient, but is provided and secure. Main home is beautiful with common areas you want to take pictures of - woodwork, staircase, ceiling details were lovely. Garden is comfortable and peaceful. We felt welcome with coffee/tea & baked goods available in the open kitchen. Second building houses executive style apartments/rooms, nicely decorated, good furniture, lighting. However, building needs some maintenance - paint peeling off bathroom tiles and carpeting that has timed out. View out only window was fire escape. A/C worked well. Both buildings were quiet while we were there. Chuck's restaurant recommendation was spot on - delicious dinner at Dove & Deer.

First of all, I want to thank the owner of the property for opening this historic house to the public. And for turning it into an amazing boutique hotel while preserving its original look and features. Everything there is designed to make one’s stay comfortable. Rooms have everything, and whatever you need - just ask the team, and they will accommodate you as much as possible! I’m so happy that we have chosen Morgan State House Inn!!! Still fangirling:). Very clean, very beautiful. Old school little notes everywhere to help you navigate the room amenities and services. And an enchanting little garden in the back of the house!!! Love antiques, history, excellent location and home-like feel? Then this is the place for you! I LOVED everything! And breakfast coffee is delish

This is a lovely bnb in an old brownstone, walking distance to the MVP Arena and a lot of nice restaurants, bars, coffee. It is a bit dated and could use some sprucing, but we loved the room (4 Garden is a "wow") and the snacks and breakfast were great. Would definitely stay again.

It’s a brownstone 9 floors with some apartments on the upper floors. Room was clean, bed was comfortable. Window air conditioner, which meant street noise galore. Check in beware they text you for updated arrival times, mine went to unknown sender so didn’t notice it. Parking is a few streets over.

Wonderfully maintained 19th century mansion-turned-inn with gorgeous woodwork. Solid continental breakfast. Owner very personable. Nothing not to like

It was great to have access to a 1880’s vintage home. The home has a lovely garden that we enjoyed. The rooms in the home are extraordinary. We were able to check in early so we could tour Albany, totally walkable, before leaving very early for the airport. The home is immaculately maintained. There is some road noise.

A beautiful suite overlooking the gardens, comfortable bed, kitchen too. Really delightful place to stay. Staff and owner all fantastic and so helpful. Breakfast was good too. Location near the gardens and close to lots of quirky eateries on Lark Street and walking distance to the Capital. Perfect.

Excellent staff and facilities.

Staff was amazing

Everything was fabulous except the breakfast. It was a cold serve yourself breakfast instead of a hot breakfast.

Gosh, what a lovely, clean, charming, inviting place in just the sweetest walkable neighborhood. It smelled good, it had good vibes and everyone was so nice. We stayed in 3b and our only note is I think it might be time for a new mattress. Otherwise perfection.

Beautiful brownstone with welcoming staff/owners. My accommodation was in the condo nearby with a beauty bedroom, sitting area and small kitchen. Great location with easy access to the State Capitol and nearby restaurants. Across from the park too, which is lovely. This is a great place to stay in Albany.
