Holiday Inn Alexandria - Downtown by IHG

The staff at this hotel are friendly and helpful. The hotel could use some renovation to get it to 2026. When we arrived we noticed that the hallway leading to our room had a musty smell much like something was applied to it to mask something. We had to have maintenance replace the tv remote as it was dead. The replacement remote would not turn the tv off so it stayed on all night and was on when we checked out. The toilet seat was loose and would not stay up. We didn't like the two glass sliding doors leading into the shower as it was cumbersome to enter and exit. Another suggestion is to have blow dryers in each room instead of "on request". The beds were clean and comfortable. Lounge chairs in the restaurant lounging area were kind of dirty and stained so we chose not to sit on them. Overall an OK experience, nothing terrible. Again - none of this is an indictment on the staff who were great.

Toilet in room didnt work. It took them hours to get us into our room, only 1 elevator was working. Some staff was nice, some werent. Breakfast was a rip off and several people didnt even pay for it and the staff didnt care, as well it wasnt worth the cost. Overall it was a terrible hotel and we felt we were going to be robbed outside. One young man was casing us as if he was going to rob us while we were trying to hitch our trailer back up, no security guards around at all. Never will go here again and i question Holiday Inn's ability to run hotels now.

I booked my room by a third party and the room rate was supposed to be including fees and taxes. When I got my bill the fees and taxes were added on top of the room rate. I wound up paying almost $500 for 3 nights stay. No one responded to my questions.

Clean room and friendly staff

The beds were beyond uncomfortable. The shower has no water pressure and you literally had to run around to get wet. The ice machines were broke, but we found a working one eventually. All in all the worst Holiday inn I've ever stayed at.

Nice bar and parking is good.

I definitely will be staying again. All around the staff was friendly and awesome customer service. My stay felt great and safe.

CONS: THE ELEVATOR IS ALWAYS BROKE!! AND THE ONE that does work IS SUPER SLOW!! Like press the button go to your room get your bags and come back type slow... Lolol.. And the outlets on the nightstand are hit and miss with working so bring a plug charger or extra long cables for phones. Overall I would recommend though

The room needed a lot of maintenance. There was no soap and the toilet paper holder was about to fall off. The bathroom had quite a bit of mold in it.
