Hotel was nice. Didn’t run into any issues. There is a restaurant downstairs with great food options.

Dirty. Beds are horrible.

My first room was so awful I didn’t sleep the first night. There were stains on the pillow cases, a ball of hair next to the tub, hair in the hand towel, my shoes stuck to the bathroom floor and there was a pair of dried up contact lenses on the night-stand. After complaining, I was given a new room. While the linens appeared to be cleaner, I didn’t feel comfortable and purchased my own pillowcases and a blanket at Target. The musty smell that came from the air register was so bad I bought Lysol to spray throughout the night. The door on my side of the adjoining room was missing. They had attached a hasp latch that was supposed to have a padlock on it to keep the door from being opened. No padlock was attached. Instead someone had rolled up a piece of paper to keep the latch from being opened. There was a deadbolt on the door but I was not able to confirm if it was keyed on both sides or just on mine. Whoever was in the room before me, also felt unsafe by rolling up the paper and putting it into the loop of the gasp latch. If the gasp latch isn’t needed why is it still attached. I’ve never been so disgusted and disappointed in a hotel.

Great stay, only problem was hair in the bathtub.
-
room was hot and stuffy and took a long time to get cool. bathroom sink would not drain properly. bathroom light flickered and bedside lamp would not turn on
-
The room was reasonably clean, but there were no towel racks, the bathroom counter was small, and there was only one chair in the bedroom. The staff were very friendly. The restaurant was great. Excellent food!

Clean room

This hotel is in a great location downtown Alexandria, walking distance to the conference I needed to attend. It’s a well kept vintage hotel,

The room was very clean and we enjoyed our stay.

The hotel construction started in 1907, and opened in 1908, so there is a lot of history behind the building. I liked the architecture of the hotel. My fiancé's sister was with us to take a look at the room. She is 82 and in a wheelchair, but there were ADA accommodations for her. She did not stay with us in the room. Some complained the rooms were musty, but I didn't experience that. I only stayed for one night and I would stay there again.

Beautiful historic hotel.

The Hotel was a bit dated but it is an over 100 year old property. It is really nostalgic and in good shape for a hotel that age. The rooms are very nice and well done. This hotel is definitely worth a try.

Pleasant

The only drawback had nothing to do with the hotel. As my husband was going to our car that morning, 2 guys tried to hustle/scare/intimidate him. Be very aware of the outside surroundings.

Great for the price. Perfect location for Alexandria Museum of Art, River Oaks Art, and Civil War sites. Great food at the Bentley Room.

I have always wanted to stay at The Hotel Bentley and finally had a chance. The lobby is beautiful, the restoration makes you feel as if you stepped back in time. The restaurant and the room that I stayed in, not so much. It's obvious where money was and wasn't spent. The check-in was great and the food in the restaurant was so good! I would definitely eat there again when I'm in town, just wished that the restaurant "felt" like 1908, definitely a missed design opportunity!
