Fairfield Inn & Suites by Marriott Ames

Overall the stay was fine. Stayed for five days. Had a serious issue with housekeeping. Upon check in I was asked if I wanted the room to be cleaned on a daily basis. Yes was my response. That didn’t happen. The first day we returned to room. Nothing was done. Had to get clean towels from front desk and told them room was not cleaned. They apologized and said the would make sure it would be taken care of. Next day returned to room. Only the trash was emptied. No bed made no ice bucket bag no fresh towels. Again I let the front desk know and again they assured me it would be cleaned. Next day clean towels only. No once during our five night stay was the room ever properly cleaned and refreshed. Hotel was not busy the entire time based on the few cars in parking lot. Breakfast was great pool was nice front desk was attentive.

The staff were pleasant. Lobby area nice and clean. But the room wasn't as clean as it should be. Bedding, such as the blankets looked like they needed to be cleaned better. One chair looked dirty.

Another great night at your property! All working there are very courteous!

The room unfortunately smelled like body odor, and the loveseat had stains on it and was gross. The pool and the hot tub were not available the entire four days that I was there. They also did not clean my room the day after I checked in.

Otherwise great stay

First floor location of room. Comfortable bed. For a large room, sparsely furnished. Breakfast was good with warm items like eggs and bacon. Attendant at breakfast helpful and cleaning tables. Needed some updating.

Front desk staff was great. Hire housekeepers who actually clean though because you can tell they hated their jobs.

Bathroom toilet had hair and urine on seat. However, overall staff was wonderful especially Teagan. She was so helpful several times and very friendly on the phone. She deserves a raise!!! We would definitely stay again but maybe increase housekeeping especially in bathrooms.

The room itself looked old and dingy, really used and abused, stained chairs, horrible pillows. We booked this particular hotel because we wanted to have the option to have an indoor pool. I called beforehand and asked about the condition of the pool and if if it was open. I was assured that it was. When we got to the Hotel and wanted to use the pool, we were told that the poolPool was closed indefinitely!!!! We were not impressed at all with the Fairfield and will not come back!

Hotel seemed clean, breakfast was fine. Refrigerator in room did not work and there was no remote for the TV.

Room was clean, although it had a moderate musty smell. The pool area was clean and nice, but the lighting was very dark. The breakfast was good, but there was no butter for toast or waffles. The coffee was very good! They did not have plain creamer available, only hazelnut and french vanilla.
