Pictures looked good but I should have known better. Was supposed to be staying two nights but ended up getting a room across the street due to how dirty our room was. Inquired about getting a refund for the 2nd night we abandoned but was told since I booked through Hotels.com the hotel couldn’t issue a refund, Hotels said I had to get the refund from the hotel. Basically there was what looked like period blood on the toilet which was loose from the floor. There was toothpaste splatter all over the walls. The lady at the counter was nice and came and cleaned the toilet but it was late and we were tired. Besides, to clean the room properly would have taken an hour or at least a gallon of paint. The shower was terrible, the beds and furniture were worn out and despite all that I still tried breakfast. 7:30 am and the only thing available was dry bread and stale bagels. $180 lost. I will not be staying at this hotel ever again.

Our check-in process went smoothly, and the employee on duty was quite friendly. Upon entry, the room seemed clean, although it was obviously dated. Our stay was going fine until it was time to go to bed. Shortly after turning off the lights to sleep I began having areas that were itching. In the moment, I thought it might be an allergy to the detergent used on the sheets, but unfortunately woke up in the morning with bug bites all over my neck, shoulders, chest, arms, and hands. I had anywhere from 25 to 30 bites that swelled and blistered. Upon trying to contact the property, the person on duty was friendly and concerned with answering the phone, but after multiple phone calls ownership never followed up with me. I was able to get a partial refund through my booking agency, but I’m still extremely disappointed that the owner did not make any effort to reach out to me. My main concern was that nobody else would have to deal with this in the future, but given their lack of follow-through, in returning my calls. I’m concerned about their follow-through on dealing with the bug issue. Obviously, I will not be returning to this hotel.

Staff was kind, the lobby is very nice.Got to room + seemed ok,then we checked the pull out, we had five people in our group+ the mattress looked soo flat +old yellowith no sheets. We searched everywhere + nothing was provided to make the bed.We went down to get some bedding + some extra blankets since i didnt want to share w myfriend bc i know im a blanket hog +so is she. we go get the bedding but they gave two top throws as blankets and a sheet that was way too small to fit the bed. My friend went back down to get another new sheet, which was then too large but thats better than too small. We went for a swim but were disappointed to find no hot tube like advertised. The staff said it was filled in a year prior. We left for food and realized as we’re pulling away, a brick wedged in the side door. we used that door on our return and the door to the hallway we were in was also propped open for anyone to get into the hotel. we left again that evening and still the brick there but we closed the door to enter our hall last time we came back. Came back at 3 am from our event and brick still wedged soo i took it out after we got in. realized the top throws that they gave us were like a thick curtain type material and super thin soo we needed to go back and get more new bedding and the lady acted as if she couldnt do it? we explained about 5/6 times why 5 adults might want 5 separate blankets to sleep w also we had 3 towels for 2 nights no soap to wash anything. biscuits werent cooke

The suites are big and functional, but just starting to be a little tired looking,

This is a nice facility. It is not cleaned well at all. Needs to have much better vacuuming. Made our stay not so pleasant. Ketchup on the wall by the cooktop. Cooktop was very dirty, gross. I would not stay here again. All due to the fact they don't clean stuff.

Had an issue with an exterior door... front desk did a temp fix... Hopefully they full fix soon.... before someone gets hurt.

Was there for college orientation not much in room/hotel… pull out sofa sleeper looked to have blood stains on mattress

The hotel is imo a great hotel. it was clean. the kitchen in the room was great. everything worked at the hotel except one of the doors to go outside. but it didn't matter cause there was two other doors to exi.the staff was respectful and helpful and also quiet if you like to sleep in. also the owner or manager I think he's the owner is there a few times a day so if you have a problem he can take care of it rt there. even the front desk people were respectful and helpful with any concerns. I would definitely stay here again there is a pool and hot tub also but I didn't use them so can't review them

The mattress was horrible with a deep right in the middle so my wife and I both were falling into the middle of the bed whole night. If mattress is bad, nothing else will make up for it because I book hotels to have a comfortable sleep in them.

Disappointing

I booked this hotel based on price AND that there was a pull out sofa bed my brother could use in the living room, giving both of us our own space with me in the bedroom. Also liked the full size fridge and generous table. The room was comfortable. 1. There were no sugar or creamer packets for the coffee in the room. 2. Had to ask for bedding for the sofa bed; none provided in room. 3. No extra blankets provided. 4. Small kitchenette with sink, dishwasher, and two burner stove. But no dish soap for sink and no soap for the dishwasher. 5. Dishes in dishwasher were dirty. Had been run but dishes didn't come clean. 6. We were 1st ones at hot breakfast that was provided and was disappointing...biscuits dry and gravy luke warm. Waffle griddle took forever to heat up and we didn't wait. Only froot loops and cornflakes available. Dispenser for fruit juice didn't work but clerk did come over and turn on. We just added hot water to packets of oatmeal and called it good.

Has suites so it is good if you want a kitchenette Nothing was available and working. Microwave was broken. Dishes were in the dishwasher, still dirty, fitness room machines barely working or broken. Pool useless. Breakfast horrible.
-
There were some stains on the wall and in the shower. The sliding door was broken (off its track) when we arrived. The towels were so scratchy. Not a bad place to stay for the price, but could definitely improve the facilities.

Breakfast ok but need fresh fruits and donuts Staff friendly and helpful tho. Nice patio . Room is clean.

Good location, close to Iowa State campus. Ask for a room with 2 beds and told that they couldn't because there was a wedding that had booked the hotel,But there was never more than ten cars, the whole time we were there. Asked for sheets for the pullout Sofa bed and was given to small of sheets. Went back down to front desk to get bigger sheets. The gap under the door for the hallway left the light shine in all of the night. The breakfast for the 1st day that we were there was Biscuits and gravy. The biscuits were dry and crumbly.

The room was clean but sparce - no bathroom soap (used shower gel bottle), nothing extra, stains on furniture but clean enough. Hotel was in okay condition, area was somewhat industrial and other clientele was a bit shady. Breakfast was very sparce also. Surprised this hotel is still open but could've been much worse. Didn't go into the pool area or workout area (if there was one). Just used to sleep while visiting Ames.

We had to be moved because of our room hadn't been cleaned properly. Elevator was sketchy. We felt safer going up and down the stairs. The first also had no lock on the bathroom door and smelled like sewage. Second room wasn't much better. My daughter and her friend did not feel safe there either. There was alot of construction workers staying there that seemed to pay way to much attention to them.

Spacious rooms but poor condition

Older hotel but very quiet and comfortable. Overall kept clean though the carpet shows wear. Nice quality bedding and pillows. Liked having suite style with the couch, full fridge, and countertop. Had a handicapped accessible room. Shower chair provided.
