Clean room, great service!

Our room had someone’s dirty sock left on the bedroom floor. The remote control was on the floor under the bed. The bathtub was peeling and they moved us to a room that the bathtub was clogged and the water couldn’t drain. They sent someone to fix the tv instead of the tub. First me I can go on with the series of incidents. But not somewhere I plan to ever stay again.

The condition of the room and lack of attention to the maintenance concerns made our stay uncomfortable and far below what we expected. Basic room maintenance and guest service should be a priority, especially when guests are paying for a quality hotel experience. Unfortunately, we also experienced an unexpected family emergency during our vacation, which added even more stress to an already difficult stay. We have photos and videos documenting the room issues. Overall, I would not consider this stay to have met the standard we expected. I hope the hotel takes these concerns seriously, improves communication with guests, and addresses maintenance issues promptly. The location may be nice, but the condition of the room and lack of response significantly affected our experience.

Has potential, but lacking basics. Multiple things not working nor well-maintained. Weird smells, roaches in lobby. Some kind staff, but many don’t care. An artifact of the clientele.
-
Valet and lobby is too crowded during the weekends with the Rooftop Bar open. No food options after 11pm

I returned to the hotel and found my entire guest floor filled with cigarette smoke. The smell had gotten into my room. This is a smoke-free Marriott property. I reported it to staff on the floor, and a manager told me he would spray the room instead of moving me. I had to go down to the front desk and ask a second time before I was relocated. The next day, cigarette smoke reached the new floor too, so the move did not fix anything. Separately, I got on the guest elevator with another guest and a hotel employee wheeled in room service food on an open cart, completely uncovered, no tray and no lid. I asked where the cover was and he said his job is just to bring the food up. To reach the rooftop bar I had to walk in through the kitchen. Once there, staff were loudly discussing personal business in front of guests. The bed was extremely hard and my back hurt by the end of the stay. This is an Autograph Collection property at an Autograph Collection price. A guest who reports cigarette smoke should not have to ask twice, and moving floors should not have been necessary at a smoke-free hotel.

Friday night, I reported that my TV and room phone were not working. Maintenance came and explained that both were affected by a storm-related outage. By Saturday evening, neither was working, so I reported it again. No one came. I later requested maintenance for 9 a.m. Sunday since I would be out, but again, no one showed. The broken phone became especially frustrating when I tried to order room service. I called the restaurant from my cell with no answer, and even the front desk couldn't get through. I eventually had to get dressed, go downstairs, order in person, and return to my room. Sunday night, the GM finally came up, removed a box from behind the TV, and got it working. The phone was never resolved. I also left my DND sign on Sunday, yet my room was cleaned anyway. I didn't make an issue of it until I discovered my washcloths hadn't been replaced and brand-new plastic utensils I'd left in the room had been thrown away. I did receive a $60 credit when I initially reported the TV and phone, which I appreciated. But the repeated lack of follow-through turned several small issues into a disappointing experience. Good hospitality isn't about everything being perfect; it's about how problems are handled when they aren't.
