Austin Motel

Very good

This was our first trip to Austin and we absolutely chose the best place to stay! Austin Motel is full of "keep Austin weird" charm. The pool is the perfect place to relax and enjoy a drink. The staff are incredibly friendly and helpful. The room was clean which is harder to do with an older property. Steps away are plenty of food options and all the downtown fun is a nice walk or quick Uber. If you want a real Austin experience, look past the corporate chains downtown and book yourself a stay at the Austin Motel!

I came for the SOCO location and retro vibe -- and it was just what I wanted. Great staff (... and a sweet friendly office cat if you're a cat lover).

Iconic venue but very small room with noisy aircon

Staff was amazing. My wife left early and took my old phone charger accidently. Its an older phone so newer chargers did not work. Fortunately Dana at the front had an older phone and allowed me to use her personal charger over my remaining two day stay. Shout out to Dana for exceptional "go beyond" service

I LOVED the vibe of this hotel. The decor and the staff were amazing !!! Plus they had the cutest motel kitty :)

The rooms are clean and quirky. The wallpaper was exotic birds, the tile floors clean, and the small fridge was stocked with beers and sodas. Simple and fun. The king bed was very comfortable and the AC kept the room cool and provided just enough white noise. Lastly, the bathroom tile is heated, and was an unexpected surprise!

The motel was fantastic - such a unique and fun place to stay. We loved the room, the pool, and the location. The staff were friendly and helpful and communication was clear and easy. They had a couple of fun parties at the pool which we enjoyed and they were wrapped by 10pm so didn't affect sleep!

The location and the pool were great! Very friendly and helpful staff. The rooms are kitschy, but definitely need to be updated and have a more welcoming feel. The air conditioner needs to be updated as well. I know Texas is hot, but for this price point we needed to stay a lot cooler. We had a good stay, but very pricey for what you get.

It’s right on congress, great for new people visiting area. I didn’t like we had a small ice chest (6 drink) and wanted to take to pool. Got denied, had to purchase drinks at pool.
