Super 8 by Wyndham Austin Downtown/Capitol Area

Air conditioning was amazing. Room was clean and staff member was kind and took care of me pretty quickly. Parking was generally good.

The guy at the front desk was very kind and informative. I had to stay here last minute when my original stay did not work out. I felt very safe here.

clean room, the a/c worked wonderfully during the hot weather, free parking on site, there is always someone in the lobby. would stay again.

From the outside it’s nothing special. But the rooms were very clean and the shower area was nice. I enjoyed my stay once I was in my room. Beds were super comfy also. For the price it’s a true standout.

Door latch was broken so made me feel anxious.

The location is very convenient if you’re doing things around the downtown area. It’s close to so much. It was a comfortable room and provided a perfect to relax between activities or events. I don’t really have any complaints.

The Hotel looks scary old from the outside. But the inside is okay. They have tried to update the decor. The door was the scariest part of the stay. The top bar lock did not work because the door didn't close correctly. However, for the one day less than 10 hour stay it was okay. It was minutes away from UT rec. Center which is where I needed to be the next morning. Would I stay more than one night? Yes, because it was only 82.00 a night and easy to get to with no extra fee for parking and was a quiet area. However, would definitely bring my own towels for sure!! Breakfast was Continental with waffle option. Seating area was small and for me hot due to the front doors being open. Staff was very welcoming and helpful. I would rate it a 5/10 just depends on what you need at the time of your stay.

They have cameras and employees watching you while in the room. This is illegal.

Fortunately, the receptionist was kind enough to accommodate our request to switch rooms. The second room was in better condition—there was no water on the floor and no mildew smell. The curtains were dusty but did not appear to have mold. One downside was that the microwave available in our room was not working, which made it impossible to heat up leftovers. The pool was decent, however. The water was clean, and my son enjoyed cooling off after spending time in the heat. While the price of our stay was reasonable, the overall experience reflected the lower cost. In the end, you get what you pay for. Unfortunately, I would not choose to stay at this location again.

While the property may not look like much at first, it’s really not that bad. There were families from all around the world staying there, and everyone was very nice and polite. Overall, we had a great experience and would definitely come back again. Can fix some stuff, but other than that it was great.

Great AC Room was good but in 5 nights no one replaced toilettries. It was quiet and room 126 got pitch black. That was the highlight of it.

You won’t find a better value this close to downtown. Room was very clean and functional. Very conveniently located to many of the popular ATX attractions. Will return.
