I recently stayed at the Sonesta Baltimore primarily because of its location. It was only a 5–6 minute walk from the convention center, which made it incredibly convenient and was the biggest reason I chose this hotel. The staff were by far the highlight of my stay. Every employee I encountered was friendly, welcoming, attentive, and genuinely helpful. They responded quickly to requests and provided excellent customer service from check-in through checkout. They deserve five stars. Unfortunately, the hotel itself was a completely different experience. The property feels very dated, with dark hallways, dark carpeting, and an overall atmosphere that felt gloomy and somewhat unsettling. There was a strong odor throughout the hotel that smelled like fresh bug spray, and it lingered long enough that I couldn’t ignore it. While the hotel looked clean at first glance, it never actually felt clean. The building also felt damp and muggy during my stay. To make matters worse, there was a tornado warning while I was there, and the lights flickered throughout the building, which only added to the uncomfortable atmosphere. While that’s obviously outside the hotel’s control, it certainly didn’t help the overall experience. The amenities were another disappointment. There was no ironing board in my room, the iron I received didn’t work properly, the refrigerator had an unpleasant odor, and I had to go to another floor just to get ice. I also experienced issues with the door

walkable, clean, convenient. the city is loud, but that’s to be expected. walked to and from m&t with no issues!

other than being under construction everything was good

The property was clean on arrival. They were under renovations so take it with a grain of salt. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Loved that we could valet since there was no parking. Upon arriving in the room, we discovered that the dead bolt on our room door was broken. The TV also wasn’t fully functional as the left side of the tv had images burnt into the screen causing the images to blur together. Shower head was a 3/10 for our liking. There was no door stopper on the wall causing the bathroom door to hit the glass shower door. Hopefully no one figures that out the hard way.

The hotel was very clean and staff were friendly throughout the duration of our stay.

I like that each place we needed to go was a walkable distance. Stayed in 503, toilet is loose and elevators were under construction or something. Took a long time for them to arrive using the elevator but was told to use. Single elevator was faster and reliable

No control of air. Picture of nice bar in lobby - think under construction they would never give straight answer the staff was very professional
-
Water pressure in our shower wasn’t the best, but good enough to get clean Asked for Kleenex two days in a row for the room and never received any Bar staff was awesome. Selection of items is terrible. No coke or Diet Coke for mixed drinks and the beer selection is almost nothing. Stock your bar. It’s a gem of a place for food and a good time

I was not informed during my stay ahead of time that the hotel was being renovated. Picture art was removed from our room and furtniture the room appeared to be incomplete and front desk staff and maintenance were not very helpful. The hotel steadily did not have any blankets and not once did housekeeping come to make up the room!

All in all it was a very nice stay. Staff at the front desk were excellent and very helpful. We did check in during an extremely busy time and they were able to assist everyone in a timely manner. Our 1 complaint is that we were on the 7th floor, with a beautiful view of a large office building. There was no night blinds to block the city lights that were very bright. The window has very thin satin like shades that barely made the room private. The beds were very comfortable.

Great price and location to all downtown activities.
-
We chose this hotel for the location. It was conveniently located close to the concert, Arena. The staff was very nice. The room was adequate The beds were comfy. I didn’t expect a view however I was hoping to see the light a day, but only got a brick wall.

When checking in, we had reserved 2 queen rooms, they asked if we would like to change our rooms to king room. We told them we could change one of our rooms to king. The manger was nice and said help yourself to any of the snacks and drinks for changing your room. But when we got up to the king room there was no refrigerator. We had to bring our cold stuff up to the queen room, and that was a pain. Other than that it was a ok stay. The carpets in hallways and rooms needs to be changed out. They made everything smell musty.
-
Only issue is they were out out rollaway cots when we requested one. Also, the ice machine on our floor was broken and we had to go to another floor. Would also have been nice for there to be a vending machine on the floor. Overall, a nice hotel with clean rooms and friendly staff in a great location. Definitely recommend for seeing Inner Harbor or going to Orioles game.

1st email said check in a 4:00 pm, 2nd said it was 3:00 pm. Which is it? Walked into room and instant smell of mildew. Lay on bed, sit in chair, walk on floor left you feeling wet.

They need to improve their coffee game
