Cleftstone Inn

Our stay at the Cleftstone was wonderful. This inn made us feel like we stepped back in time when we arrived. The architecture was so cute inside and out. The staff was very kind and accommodating- though we didn’t take full advantage of that or the amenities because we were mostly gone out exploring in Bar Harbor. The only complaint we have was the WiFi is spotty at best in room 3. I know we were in Maine to escape the normal day to day and our phones but the WiFi didn’t even support the smart tv in the room. Wouldn’t deter us from coming back but it was annoying.

Breakfast service courtesy of chef Martha was unique, creative and near over the top daily, quite fancy with very friendly and accomodating servers including Isabel. In an ante room to the diningn room near the kitchen was a full self service and beverage, and one or two always filled baskets of goodies - cookies, little muffins, fruits. We were nicely greeted by staff member Erin. She assisted us with many routine minor requests. Manager Stefan was very much present and happy to offer much historical insights into the building - which by the way, is loaded with major artifacts throughout. To the left of the entrance inside is a big living room very well appointed with a beautiful fireplace, blazing away in mid June chilly Baa Haba weather :-) We were there June 20-27 2026 and of course we'd go back.

This inn is so beautiful and well kept. I can't say enough good things about it. Stephan was very professional, engaged, and helpful. The breakfast was amazing. the room was was spotless, cozy, comfortable, and beautifully renovated. The location is very close to the harbor/shopping areas. Highly recommend.

We only stayed one night but it was enough to know that it was a great place and we will definitely be making it our go to every time we visit Bar Habor. Clean and comfortable, breakfast was great. Located just minutes from town and the entrance to Acadia National Park.

Lovely property, excellent location, and exceptionally friendly staff. The breakfasts and daily snacks were a nice touch and greatly appreciated. The only suggestion I would make is to pay a little more attention to the cleanliness of the carpets and floors. Overall, we had a great stay and enjoyed our experience.

We were overall happy. Hotel is about 1 mile from downtown bar harbour, walkable but not ideal. Room was not cleaned on day two. When we asked, we were told it was only done on request. But we were not informed so at check-in. We requested for day 3, again not cleaned because our room number was not taken down by the staff. Shower water is fickle, sometime we got hot water sometimes not. So we skipped shower a couple of times. Breakfast is good with very nic presentation. Room is spacious and well decorated.

Our room was lovely, very clean and comfortable. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The breakfasts and snacks were amazing. Would highly recommend.

Very few outlets in the rooms. Also no hair dryer. The Inn is very well maintained.

Loved the quaint feeling! Perfect location to Acadia & Bar Harbor. Upon arrival our flights were delayed, so I contacted the property to make them aware of a late check in. They left us our room key & made the check in process seamless. Rooms were very clean. Breakfast was good & unique every morning! Also, a plus- you are able to use the amenities (pool, hot tub, fitness center) at the property next door. Would stay here again 😊

Property is clean and beautiful. The beds and pillows are comfy. Stairs to rooms are narrow and require care going up and down. The fragrance used is a bit overwhelming- very hard to tolerate if you have a fragrance sensitivity.

Beautiful facility, well appointed and fantastic location! Stefan, the Inn Keeper was very knowledgeable about the homes history which is incredible to hear. All the staff were very friendly! So glad we stumbled across this gem!

Love the charm and the breakfast. No mini fridge

Room 13 is beautiful, but does have a detached bathroom. We were fine with it and never ran into anyone when we left our room, but may not be for everyone!

Beautiful! Clean!. We really enjoyed the hot tub and pool. The breakfast was very good. Staff was very kind and friendly.
