This B&B was absolutely wonderful. From the staff, food and location. Would highly recommend to anyone. Beautiful place and everyone was so friendly and helpful with recommendations. Our vacation was perfect!

Had a wonderful 2 nights stay in a spacious room with a king size bed, fireplace, two sitting chairs and full-size bathroom. The bed was very comfortable and I appreciated that the room came with an air-conditioner unit as the temperatures were very warm that week. Coffee, tea, water and homemade snacks were provided in the afternoon and breakfast was included and served in choice of two locations. The breakfast sandwich that I was served was delicious and staff was very tentative. Comfortable and cozy community sitting room with gas fireplace was a perfect spot to relax and mingle with other guest. B & B also had an outdoor patio area with chairs and propane fire table however, the outdoor cafe lights were never on and the fire table wasn’t lit. Perhaps if we had asked staff for assistance things could’ve been turned on, but after our excursions we were exhausted and went straight to bed . Location was perfect as it is only a 10 minute walk into town down a paved sidewalk and Acadia Park is very close by.

Very clean and comfortable. Our room was spacious and well designed. The staff was friendly and helpful. We spent a night there on our way to Nova Scotia.

Beautiful hotel

Everything, the location is perfect for relaxation about a 10 min walk from town. The room was perfect with very beautiful and comfortable furnishings and what a view!! The breakfast was to die for, the French toast w blueberry compote completely blew us away

The location was close to Acadia so that was good, It is a bit out of town, it might have been more convenient to stay in town and be able to walk to dinners. The quality of the breakfast wasn't great. The gym and pool are not exactly on site so not terribly convenient if that's important to you, they are in the inn just up the road.

From check in to check out being at Cleftstone felt like staying at mom’s house. I loved the afternoon tea and the delicious breakfasts. We also really enjoyed listening the Sara Jones sing at the Sand Bar. The rooms are beautiful and the staff were amazing. Thank you for making our first time at Bar Harbor even better.

In short, there was no cleaning staff. So we left no tip.

Great hotel and great staff

Had a very pleasant stay! A very beautiful B&B in a great location. Our room was clean and very cozy. The AC was working perfectly and had a nice breeze with the windows open. The staff were nice & helpful.

Such a cute b&b! We only had a one night stay while visiting Bar Harbor and wished we could have stayed longer here.
-
It was clean, homemade gourmet breakfast, friendly staff, the kitchen was a nice touch, They only drawback was our room had a very short sloped ceiling which made it hard to navigate around, and the AC was old and not effective and with the outside temperature ranging between 75-95 the room was constantly warm. The common area was also not air-conditioned.

Our stay at the Cleftstone was wonderful. This inn made us feel like we stepped back in time when we arrived. The architecture was so cute inside and out. The staff was very kind and accommodating- though we didn’t take full advantage of that or the amenities because we were mostly gone out exploring in Bar Harbor. The only complaint we have was the WiFi is spotty at best in room 3. I know we were in Maine to escape the normal day to day and our phones but the WiFi didn’t even support the smart tv in the room. Wouldn’t deter us from coming back but it was annoying.

Breakfast was excellent. Beautiful building. Walkable to bar harbor although a bit of a walk.

Room faced main road and high traffic noise

Breakfast service courtesy of chef Martha was unique, creative and near over the top daily, quite fancy with very friendly and accomodating servers including Isabel. In an ante room to the diningn room near the kitchen was a full self service and beverage, and one or two always filled baskets of goodies - cookies, little muffins, fruits. We were nicely greeted by staff member Erin. She assisted us with many routine minor requests. Manager Stefan was very much present and happy to offer much historical insights into the building - which by the way, is loaded with major artifacts throughout. To the left of the entrance inside is a big living room very well appointed with a beautiful fireplace, blazing away in mid June chilly Baa Haba weather :-) We were there June 20-27 2026 and of course we'd go back.
