The Inn on Mount Desert

Breakfast is done really well. The location is great for walking about Bar Harbor and as a base for Acadia. Keep your expectations modest regarding the room itself, completely fine but nothing luxurious.

Location (walking distance to town), excellent staff, breakfast, room amenities.

We were looking forward to this hotel because it was located close to the downtown. However the staff was not very friendly, wouldn't let us check in early and when the guest laundry washer broke mid cycle and our clothes were heavy with water, the girl on staff told me to just keep running my laundry in the dryer. She had her own basket of laundry with her and it seemed like she wanted to do her own laundry. It took us 4 hours to dry our clothes and we had to stay close enough to the hotel to keep putting quarters in, despite me asking if we could just rerun the load once the washer was fixed. I would not recommend this hotel.

The room was clean and decorated very nice(coastal) which my wife and I love. Easy walk to down town where all the action is. Also easy to get on the waterfront walk. It was the best part of our 3 city road trip. Thanks Team!

We enjoyed a wonderful 2 night stay. 10-15 min walking distance to shopping/dining. Wonderful staff that really made it enjoyable. Delicious breakfast that was included - much better than we expected. The garden/grounds are gorgeous and wished we could have enjoyed it more. Bed was very comfortable. Room a/c worked as desired, good water pressure, very clean. Adequate counter space for getting ready and putting out our "stuff". Only issue (and it's a super small one) was that 2 drawers (one on dresser and 1 on nightstand) need repaired. As is, if you pull them open without being aware, the "stop" is broken and the drawer will drop quickly. I fell for that one too many times! We'll gladly stay there again.

We loved the location of this hotel. It’s walking distance to town restaurants and shops. Breakfast was made to order and very good. The room was clean, but a little outdated. Overall, we enjoyed our stay. Nice little garden next to hotel.

Amazing amenities from a home-cooked breakfast every morning, to freshly baked sweets in the afternoon and a coffee bar 24 hrs a day. All the employees were so kind and helpful! We loved every bit of our time there!

The Inn is lovely and convenient and had ample parking for guests’ cars plus spare umbrellas for borrowing. The staff was friendly and helpful. Our room was clean, quiet, and spacious. Breakfast is cooked upon request with either a savory or sweet option. I can’t say that all the meals were good all the time. Every afternoon they put freshly baked cookies out and they always have apples available. We did have two safety concerns. One is that they need to put a bath mat in the tub which was quite slippery. The second is that I saw a cook leave the kitchen to use a computer but she did not remove or change her food prep gloves when she returned to the kitchen.

Clean room, comfortable beds, delicious breakfast and great location!!

The lower level rooms can hear foot steps above. The breakfast was limited, prepared foods excellent, orange juice was too watered down.

Beautiful, quiet and convenient location. We would definitely stay here again.

Nice breakfast, clean & spacious room. And short walk to harbor and downtown Bar Harbor.

Our room was great. The staff was extremely helpful. Location was within walking distance to the touristy part of town. Best hotel breakfast ever and the sweets in the lobby were delicious!
