Great staff and property was clean.
-
The valet parking was great this will be my new preferred hotel when visiting LSU.

This Courtyard is downtown so it has a different feel to it. You have to pay for parking but that’s typical of downtown. The staff were not as professional as some locations but were good enough. We only had one towel for the two of us. Still a comfortable stay bc the rooms at Courtyards are consistent in quality and amenities.

Fantastic stay I will be...

We were in a queen room that was very large. The beds were very comfortable and the property was well maintained. Check in was smooth and the valet and staff that checked us in were very helpful and friendly.

Also we were told that parking was in the back for the hotel. What we were not told is that the lot is a pay lot and the next morning we walked out with a ticket on my car.

Parking was terrible! There is no parking on your own parking lot unless you park in the street. They do not utilize the parking behind the hotel; it is only for vans, buses, etc. No cars; they will drive your car to some alley. No management on property; it was like a bunch of high schoolers working. The third-party valet parking staff was decent. I was overly charged for valet...but Miranda was awesome!

Everyone was so nice and welcoming from the moment we got there. Very good customer service. The room was nice and clean. It’s close to a lot of places and walking distance to restaurants which makes it nice since the hotel doesn’t have its own parking lot and we did valet parking. I’ll definitely be coming back and staying here!

All was fine but the whole stay was spoiled by the issue below. I paid the hotel the day before I arrived via booking. com and got the booking. com receipt. On leaving the hotel the reception was busy so I put my key in a key card box, which had other keys in too, since I had paid and had an invoice from booking so I had no reason to wait for one from the hotel. However, the next day the hotel billed me for the same night again (I saw it taken from my bank account - I didn't receive an emailed hotel invoice). When I emailed the Marriott Baton Rouge to point out the problem and to ask for a refund I just got a generic response which as good as said 'computer says no'. I tried again and got another dismissive generic response from their head office. On getting back home to England I spoke to booking. com who agreed there was an issue and said they would work to get a refund. After many emails with booking and being assured my claim was valid I have still had no refund from them (it is now mid June and I stayed at the hotel 19 Mar). So the booking. com response has been very disappointing too. I am very annoyed that the Marriott did not take my emails seriously and clearly wasn't interested in really looking into the issue. Thank heavens it was only for one night. My advice to all who stay - make sure you get an invoice from reception before leaving.
