Super accommodating and centrally located

The rooms were missing coffee machines, bathrobes, privacy card for housekeeping, laundry bags. The hotel advertises a restaurant but did not offer lunch on Friday. We bought an extra package for the Friday night dinner and were not pleased with the service and quality of the food for what was advertised. The website mentions and airport shuttle service which we called and emailed about 4 times and were promised to be prioritized and put in touch with the driver when we landed - only to hear when we landed that the service does not exist anymore. The beach access listed on the website was incorrect, we elected to walk there instead of their shuttle and were left confused and 300 addresses early. The pool closes down at 11 with no signage about closing or opening hours. When we asked the service about the closing hours the front desk told us we should assume it closes. The elevator permit was expired 12 months prior to our visit and made rattling noises.

Bad check in experience

Smells like mildew and mold and dampness and pool hours are weird

Breakfast starts very late at 8:30 in the morning that's unheard of for a hotel. We would not stay there again. See above:or here it is again. The hotel is maybe a 3 star. Some furniture in the room has very visible wear. We need to change room because the room next to us had a child and you heard everything. It's like they have paper walls or doors. Breakfast starts very late at 8:30 in the morning that's unheard of for a hotel. We would not stay there again. P.S. my wife said there was a slight smell in both rooms and the hallway. Our phone didn't work in the first room + no coffee machine. Not what you expect for that kind of $

1) We called the front desk to ask if towels would be provided at the beach (since we were out and wanted to avoid returning to the hotel just to get towels). The receptionist told us yes, but then there were no towels at the beach station for Altair. This was unfortunate with young kids especially and we ended up leaving early due to the inconvenience. 2) The breakfast buffet could use some improvement. -- while the salads, baked goods were great, the omelet station didn't work the duration of our stay. Young kids don't eat the salads, so not having eggs was a minus. Also, was quite difficult to get a cappuccino and no option to charge drinks to the room or take the coffee back to the room. 3) The shower with the half-door design does not work very well. We ended up flooding the bathroom floor even while turning the shower head towards the wall and trying to keep the water in. Just not a very logical setup for a shower!

it was an amazing experience

Service could be improved. My room wasn’t cleaned until I physically spoke to cleaning people and than they didn’t replenish the coffee station. Elevator had a poor smell

The breakfast was amazing, and we truly enjoyed every moment of our stay. We are already looking forward to coming back and would highly recommend Altair to anyone visiting the area!

Pool was magnificent and enjoyable. Staff were generally very helpful.

We had a great stay at the Altair! The separate swimming hours, complete with a women's aqua-aerobics class, kosher breakfast, and details down to the negel vasser cup and wig head in the room, were pleasantly surprising and so useful! The hotel offered kayaks free of charge, and shuttles on the hour to and from the beach. They provided chairs, umbrella, and cold water, too. The staff was very accommodating and fixed any issues right away. They offer half price drinks on the rooftop pool daily, and they held our luggage for us on our first and last day between our flights and check-in/out. 13 minute walk from Mamala, and 17 minutes from Harding! The shuttle also drops off at Harding, which saved us Ubers! They also upgraded our room for no charge when we arrived. All in all, we were super satisfied and pleasantly surprised by everything the Altair offered. Thank you!

Hotel was great. Restaurant is managed by an external vendor - not as friendly as main hotel staff and breakfast only opens at 8.30 which was not helpful as a business traveller.

Clean and perfectly maintained Liked everything about the property

The room itself appeared poorly maintained. The wallpaper was peeling off the walls, and there were several maintenance issues in the bathroom. The shower temperature was difficult to control because the handle was loose and would slip downward, causing the water to become extremely hot. We had to hold the handle in place while showering. In addition, water leaked out of the shower despite using the curtain properly, leaving the carpet outside the bathroom wet. We were also concerned about safety. The nightstand next to the bed had very sharp edges. My 2-year-old fell off the bed and nearly struck her eye on the corner, which could have resulted in a serious injury. The most disappointing part of our stay occurred at checkout. I requested a receipt and noticed that I had been charged $38 per night for valet parking, even though we never used valet service. When I asked the front desk to remove the charge, I was told they would need to "check the cameras" to verify that I had not parked there. I found this response insulting, rude, and unprofessional. Guests should not be treated as though they are being dishonest when disputing an obviously incorrect charge. Overall, the hotel did not meet my standards.
