Residence Inn Marriott Chicago Midway

Housekeeping is only provided every four days, and even then, they simply empty the trash and replace the towels. The room is not properly cleaned, and the service is far below what you would expect from any hotel. Overall, this was a very disappointing experience. I would strongly recommend avoiding this hotel at all costs.

I loved that there was an airport shuttle that ran every 20 minutes, which gave me access to CTA and city buses at MDW, as well as my flight. Was very excited that there was a Lou Malnati‘s pizza restaurant just two blocks away. The staff in the hotel was very friendly. My room was absolutely spotlessly clean, spacious, plush towels and bedding, and nicely decorated. Great breakfast with lots of variety. The booking was a little more than I really wanted to pay, but I was satisfied with the accommodations.

There was a full breakfast selection with scrambled eggs or boiled, two kind of sausages, a variety of breads, coffee, tea, milk, and soda, and oatmeal with toppings. A very meaningful breakfast self-served. The eggs, the scrambled eggs, could have been hotter.

Clean room and very convenient next to Midway

The room was fine, and the rate was reasonable, especially because, unlike most of the other hotels at the Midway center, parking here is free. It was great for us to have a small kitchen, as we stayed for a full week. One complaint - the refrigerator's icemaker didn't work, and there are no ice machines like in most hotels. We asked about it the first day we were there and it never got fixed.

There must have been a bug issue on the property, I had bugs in the kitchen area and ants in the bathroom, it called the front desk and the person I guess that take of these type of things were gone for the day. That made me very uncomfortable, this was unsanitary. I mentioned it again when I checked out and they told me I had to speak to a manager. I would like some form of monetary discount for this bad experience. Thank you!

The bed was too firm, and I was sore most of the time. I recommend softer mattresses.

The fitness room had 2 elliptical machines out of order. The rooms are dated. This is my last stay at Marriott. I am canceling the Canada hotel and booking Hilton. Elite members, don't waste your money here.
