It was clean, comfortable. It was a little hard to find at night.

The staff were so friendly and the breakfast and coffee machine were fabulous! Very long Code to get in the room door. The hotel room smelled very musty. It was very overpowering. Because of the smell it made the room feel very unclean. The giant mirrors in the room that took up the whole wall made us feel very uneasy and made the room feel very non family friendly.

Unfortunately, the experience begins to false short upon arrival. The hotel is tucked behind a freestanding Starbucks creating an underwhelming first impression and the building’s exterior appears worn, beat up, and lacks the appeal one would expect from a boutique property. The maintenance issues continue inside. The elevator was beat up and the door tracks were noticeably dirty. The guestroom lighting relied on harsh fluorescent fixtures that created an uninviting atmosphere rather than the warm ambience associated with boutique accommodations. That said the stay was not without its positives. The room was functional, the beds were reasonably comfortable, breakfast met expectations, the afternoon/evening front desk associate was especially personable and welcoming, providing one of the highlights of the visit. Overall, while the Block Hotel offers some appealing elements, the property does not deliver on the boutique experience it promotes. Given the condition of the exterior and certain maintenance and design shortcomings, the room rate - while a good value - felt somewhat high relative to the overall value received.

The staff were very friendly, the lobby area is beautiful, and the breakfast was great! My kids were very excited about the waffles! (: We also loved that Starbucks was so close! I’m a mom and was there alone with my children, and I didn’t like that the parking lot was hidden. I didn’t feel safe. I also had a man follow us from the parking lot and linger around us in the lobby a little before midnight after I picked up my daughter from a concert. I wish there had been someone at the front desk at the time because I felt very panicked and uneasy. Also, the elevator certificate expired in May, the 3rd floor was very humid, and our microwave didn’t work.

    Very good

This hotel room size is perfect for solo travel. I don't ever need two queen beds in a hotel room - so this single bed in a smaller room was perfect for me. Plenty of closet space and drawers. Coffee in-room and at breakfast, bright and helpful staff at the desk. The breakfast bar was extensive, hot breakfast buffet (eggs, sausage, biscuits, gravy) foods, yogurt, waffles, coffee, cereal, coffee, juice, something for everyone. Lobby is large and perfectly suited for families, things for kids to do, places to sit and organize yourself before launching. Location is next to two major crossroads so you have easy access to get in and get out. Room was quiet at night so I got a wonderful night's sleep with the AC fan on. Comfortable pillows, large window and heavy drapes. When booking the price seemed low but reviews are Very Good. I see why. Why pay for a double size room when all you need is a place to lay out your health and beauty items, hang up a few pieces of clothing and get a good night's sleep. Or set up your laptop at the desk and get some work or browsing done. I do not travel with a pet but the hotel is dog friendly and although I saw several big dogs, I never heard them. There is a nice large outdoor dog park to let them run around for exercise. No notes. Everything was what I needed for my stay.

Great layout of rooms, welcoming space, modern, European feel. I didn’t travel with dog this time but dog park spacious. Convenient location in terms of access to Crystal Bridges. Also many eating places around. Friendly, helpful staff. I could have used a flatter pillow, but overall the beds and bedding were very comfortable.

Nothing it was great. The lady that checked us in was very friendly and helpful. The young man who checked us out was very friendly and helpful.

  • Engine customer Aug 2026

The staff was very kind and welcoming. We did not like the requested hospitality and we were not made clear at check in that we would have to ask for our room to be cleaned.

Very modern, cute hotel The room was a little small, but other than that, no complaints!! It was so clean, comfy, and perfect location.

Absolutely loved this hotel. Off the beaten trail slightly but location is great, beds were coffee, and the staff was amazing!

  • Engine customer Aug 2026

An excellent hotel for the price. In room air conditioner not too loud. Hotel is kept clean. The free breakfast is better than average. The location is in a busy traffic area. We did not hear traffic noise in our room.

Clean, quiet, good value. Room was nice and staff was great. Good breakfast! It’s a little hard to find the first time because it doesn’t actually face the street.
