Holiday Inn Express and Suites Bessemer Birmingham SW by IHG

Overall fine, but the sleeper sofa was worst one of any hotel stay ever. It felt like nothing but a sheet was covering the mattress springs. It was so bad, one kid slept on the floor on top of a couple of pillows while other slept on sofa cushions instead of sleeper sofa mattress. If you don't need to sleep 6 people, then it would be fine.

I liked the relaxing areas and the breakfast areas.

Property was very clean and convenient to Alabama Splash Adventure. Dalvin at front desk was very helpful and takes pride in his job. Dalvin was and is awesome! I will definitely come again and highly recommend friends and family. I have no dislikes or complaints at all.

We really enjoyed ourselves. It was clean, the staff was very professional, and it was convenient to places we wanted to see.

Being roomed, by a family reunion.. I was unable to use the swimming pool or recreational areas all weekend.

Everything was going great until I lost power in my room. I was offered another room but my flight was leaving the next morning other than that everything was great!

It was very clean and staff where amazing Although the room was clean my whole family was sick after leaving there.

The staff were very friendly and helpful. The room could have been cleaner. The shower was dirty in the corners and growing the pink bacteria. The tile in the corners and edges were dirty.

Nothing all was great

The room was great and the staff were very helpful and friendly. There were some issues with the room that we had to make the staff aware of, but nothing that impacted our stay.

This all happened on our first night ... while at the pool (which is indoor) there was a gentleman outside blast music from his car and smoking something from a pipe which made me feel weary. Granted that is not the hotels fault for what the guest was doing but it was still an uncomfortable feeling while my child was playing in the pool. The guy knew we were in there because he kept making eye contact with me standing outside the glass door. Not only myself but my child was also woken to the loud sounds of someone parked in front of hotel at the entrance (mind you our room was on the second floor looking right at the entrance) with music also blasting and laughter. This went on for about 10 minutes, which to me, I felt like was entirely too long. I was a paying customer just like everyone else. I understand wanting to have fun and celebrate but consideration to other paying customers is also expected. Another customer also left water running in his room, fell asleep and flooded the floor causing it to knock out the Wi-Fi, tv and some other amities. Our room was beyond hot, the air never wanted to stay on, so we made a trip the second night to Walmart to get a fan. I feel like that is also kind of expected when staying in a hotel is how nice and cold the rooms always are, this was not our case. The hotel room, the hotel itself, and the breakfast were okay but considering our experience I believe we will find another place in another town to stay next time.

While very minor, there could be just a little more drawer space, especially if there's more than one person.
