It was a very enjoyable stay. My only complaint was that there was no mini refrigerator in the room, or a dresser with drawers. Great decor, clean and friendly staff.

Great ambiance. Lots of places to chill. Great location and view.

A historic gem + modern comforts = an enchanting stay! The ambiance of period decor, ancient live oaks, beautifully maintained grounds and gardens, refreshing costal breeze, and stellar ocean views, transformed our stay into treasured memories.

Everything was great. Rooms were cleaned and bed made every day. Would stay again! Really liked the exercise room!

Unfortunately, everything else about our stay was extremely disappointing. The showers are old and badly in need of updating. Housekeeping is only available until 11:00 a.m., and apparently it is outsourced rather than handled in-house. If you leave your room too late, it simply does not get cleaned. The towels we were given were stained. I was so shocked that I actually took a photograph of them. The following morning, we came downstairs to have coffee at the bar, but there was no one there. We walked around the lobby trying to find someone to speak with, but there seemed to be no staff available. Thatevening I asked the person at the front desk to leave a message for the manager to call me. I checked out today and never received a call or any acknowledgment from the manager. What makes this even more surprising is that the hotel appeared almost empty. There were only about five cars in the parking lot, so this certainly did not seem to be a case of the staff being overwhelmed by a full hotel. I worked in the hospitality industry for 20 years and have traveled extensively, staying everywhere from Travelodge hotels on the road to five-star properties. I can honestly say that I have received better service at a Travelodge than I received at the White House Hotel. At least in those hotels, there is usually a manager available!

Beautiful hotel. Spacious rooms. Friendly staff.

I stayed in a Superior Room. The room itself was nice, clean, and comfortable, but I was very disappointed with the view and privacy. The window looked directly out onto a dumpster, parking lot, and surrounding walls. Even worse, people outside could easily look directly into the room, so I had to keep the curtains closed for privacy. For a room advertised as “Superior,” I definitely expected a better view and more privacy. Other than that, I enjoyed the room and had a pleasant stay overall. I just think guests booking this room category should be aware of the location and view.

Our room was amazing, the staff was very pleasant, and the food and bar were wonderful!

There were no modern comforts such as a mini fridge or microwave oven. Everything was just bland, nothing exceptional.

Nicely maintained historic hotel. Staff was more than friendly and very helpful. We booked 3rd party this time and got the hotel for a very good price (weekday bookings). Nice wide viewing veranda off the 3rd floor that provides a beautiful view of the gulf. Pool is very nice and well maintained, as well..

Absolutely beautiful!! Unfortunately I fell at the pool due to a warped area and a bolt raised up.
-
refrigerator was delivered dirty.
-
Everything was great! Coffee in the room sucked but that’s always the case at every hotel but not a deal breaker.
-
Everything was great. We really enjoyed it.

Food was wonderful.

Rooms were clean and spacious. Staff was wonderful. Bar and restaurant were delicious.
-
Location across the street from the gulf is great. Staff was very helpful. Beds were very comfortable. Limited food options although the gal at the bar was very accommodating and offered some options not on the menu.
-
The beds were very comfortable. Enjoyed the balcony overlooking the gulf. The pool was great. The coffee in the room was bland. No small breakfast.
-
Great place and we will be back.

We turned the thermostat as low as it would allow but the temp in the room never dropped below 73. This was too hot to sleep comfortably and I had wondered why I saw two people carrying in box fans. Though the AC couldn’t cool enough for us, it did provide water. My backpack was on the floor directly under the AC and during the night soaked all of my clothes and left probably half a gallon of water on the floor that I soaked up with the dirty towels. The very tiny soaps and shampoos were not enough for adults with hair. We wanted drinks to go sit in the beach so we went to the vending machines. A sign said that the cards did not work, so we were forced to use the ATM. The vending machines also did NOT take cash. Very annoying. The breakfast was delicious and we really enjoyed that.
