Hilton Birmingham Downtown at UAB

Was given our room that hadn’t been cleaned. Duty manager was far from helpful however an assistant (Lesley) was brilliant and got us sorted. The pool deck was filthy, clearly hasn’t been cleaned for days.

Other then that, the hotel, pool, and parking were excellent.

Great place to stay - comfortable beds, clean rooms and bathrooms, good food at the Blazer Grill. Will be staying there 3 more weeks this month to be near UAB Hospital. Highly recommend!

The bathroom had hair in the tub and the pillows became completely flat after laying on them for several minutes

I traveled for my family reunion. The hotel is was great. The staff from the front desk to housekeeping was awesome, attentive, committed to servicing their customers especially Ms. Tracy F. & Reginald. I arrived early my room was ready. Five stars to them both! I needed an late check out for a flight and was accommodated. My only issue was the big cockroach that ran me back into the hotel from patio area.

The biggest challenge would have to be the air-conditioning. the room would not cool to a comfortable temp at all luckily most of my stay was spent outside of the room for the concert, but the room was warm. Too short of a stay to issue a complaint, but definitely was not satisfied with this particular Hilton Stay.

Easy parking, very clean, great staff

The room was very very warm and hot. Wasn’t accommodated good for having a bad night. The temperature in the room was between 76-79.

Everything was done exceptionally well from the moment we stepped in the door. Hotel staff was friendly. Check in was super easy. The staff at the Blazer grill were VERY welcoming and friendly as well, especially Dino. And the food was absolutely delicious. 10/10 definitely would recommend!

My daughter and I booked this Hilton because we were in Birmingham for two days for her freshman orientation at UAB. The hotel’s location was perfect only about five minutes from campus which was especially important since we were traveling from Atlanta, Georgia, and were unfamiliar with the area.Unfortunately, our stay was overshadowed by several issues that caused us to miss an important event during my daughter’s orientation.After leaving orientation, we checked into our room so we could get dressed and return to campus for the freshman meet-and-greet. As soon as we entered the room, we were hit with a strong mildew odor that made the room almost unbearable. To make matters worse, the pillowcases had visible makeup stains on them, making us question the cleanliness of the entire room.When we contacted the front desk, we were told the hotel was sold out and there were no other rooms available. The housekeeper, however, was absolutely amazing. She was kind, professional, and genuinely cared about making things better. She immediately replaced the dirty pillowcases with clean ones, gave us a can of Lysol because the odor was so bad, and even provided snacks and breakfast vouchers because she felt terrible about the situation. Eventually, we were moved to another room, but by the time everything was resolved, we had missed my daughter’s freshman meet-and-greet an event that cannot be recreated.

Staff was excellent, room was nice. Would stay here again.

There were not really much amenities except for parking and wifi. Everything else was extra charge.

Very comfortable clean staff very helpful

Staff was super nice and check easy. Had a kid with but the pool wasn’t very kid friendly and people were smoking so we left. Was there with a family member who was having surgery; so, it took care of our needs for the proximity to UAB.

Pro: we were able to check in 2 hours early. Cons: Room smelled of paint, bathroom & room was dirty, towel had hard water stains, I had to deep clean the bathroom before we used it at all. Pillows and comforter smelled like other ppl, Lysol was used and it was still bad. And this is a 4 star hotel???? My God! I’m beyond disappointed.
