Nice place to stay, clean rooms and clean hotel

The staff was unprofessional from the start. No one wore anything identifying them as employees. My card was incorrectly charged for our one-night stay, and then my mother’s card was charged for the same stay. We were repeatedly told it was Hotels.com’s fault, even though my bank clearly shows the charge came directly from Holiday Inn. They claimed to process a refund, but I still haven’t received it. They also refused to provide any receipt or documentation, saying it was “against policy.” The room was dirty, with old food left on the carpet, and it appeared to have unfinished repairs. The situation became so uncomfortable that I had to call the police. Instead of showing concern, the staff laughed, acted condescendingly, and dismissed our concerns. When I asked the woman who identified herself as management for a business card, she simply pointed toward the front desk and said there was one there. There wasn’t. I asked her again if she could provide one, and she refused. I then asked for the phone number to corporate, and her response was to “Google it.” This entire interaction is captured on the hotel’s security cameras. We were in Birmingham for a funeral, not a vacation. While grieving, we should not have had to deal with rude staff, billing issues, and an unsafe environment.

Great stay for two nights!

We arrived to our hotel at almost 11pm to be given a double bed room, which is what we booked. We opened the door to a pile of trash. Upon further inspection of the room, there were empty TRULY cans everywhere, the beds were unmade and slept in. The pillows had makeup on them. There were towels all over the bathroom floor, trash in the trash can. My husband went down to tell them that was unacceptable and they put us in a new room. They "upgraded" us to a King suite with a pull-out couch bed. We accepted our defeat because we were exhausted from our 10.5 drive that day, so we accepted. We drove here for our 17YO daughter to play in a softball tournament so you can imagine the sort of sleep anyone can get on a pull out couch bed. The bathtub would also not drain due to being clogged full of hair. Just very unclean and gross. I asked to be comped for a night at least and have not seen anything in regards to that. I would not recommend staying here. There were SEVERAL others who had come down to complain about their rooms because they were not cleaned or one person even had a flooded bathroom.

Booked last minute. Staff excellent. Property in fantastic shape.

Poor maintenance staff things that are broken are not getting fixed. Suggest replacing all the locks on the doors. Got sent to three different rooms locks did not work on any of them. Breakfast was terrible don’t understand how you can screw up powered eggs but it happened. We will avoid all Holiday inn express in the future improvements need to be made.

Plenty of carts to move lift Nothing

The pancake machine was broken in the breakfast room. The paint was poorly applied in the room, the caulking around the sink was dry but had dripped down into the sink so it was visible. The hallway carpet and area around the elevator were dirty with fingerprints on the stainless steel. Just a disappointment that details were not considered.

The breakfast was good th first day and not so much the second day not adequate towels or pillows after calling front desk received the pillows and was told towels in the dryer. 2 days later we received towels from the front desk and had to carry up to the room ourself.

The staff was friendly and professional. The hotel is in a good location as well. There was hair in the tub and on the toilet. There was blood on the bed spread in our room. And the room smelled old maybe because the door in the bathroom may have gotten water on the bottom or something.

The room was nice. The bed was comfortable. Staff was friendly. Breakfast was a let down. The pancake machine was broken and there was always something out. There was no complimentary water and the hot tub was lukewarm. A couple people who had been staying there longer term said the hot tub and pancake machine had been like that for 2 weeks. Also, someone had refilled the conditioner with shampoo so I washed my hair twice….

Overall our stay was fine, however you could tell that maintenance is not well done. Our bathroom door physically would not stay closed or latch, our toilet handle was jammed, several messy patch jobs around. The bedroom carpet was sticky feeling on bare feet. Hair behind doors. Hair on clean towels and washcloths. Just poor attention to detail overall. However, I do not blame the housekeepers when checkout is 11am and check-in is 3pm. That is an ill amount of time to appropriately flip dozens of rooms. Breakfast buffet was average, however a few items were unavailable such as the pancakes and 2/3 of the juice options. Also they didn’t replenish food as the morning progressed so a lot of people were left with even fewer options. Bed was comfortable and clean.

Website said there was a restaurant/bar in the hotel, I called twice and asked and was told yes, and I arrive to no restaurant/bar. I also reserved an accessible room, as I am in a wheelchair. On three of the phone calls made to the hotel, I asked if the bed would be wheelchair heighth, since it's an accessible room, only to be told all three times "I don't know." Upon arrival in the "accessible room," the bed was not wheelchair heighth, and there was a tub in the bathroom. I'm not really sure what made this room "accessible." The bed heighth was so terribly high that I could barely get onto it and I transfer exceptionally well from a wheelchair. Also, I nearly fell from this extremely high bed when morning came, which would have probably left me hurt in some way and I would currently own this hotel from the lawsuit...

Pool and hot tub were nice, breakfast was good but the entire place needs a deep clean.

The breakfast was alright There was roaches in the room. The tv was messed up. The phones didn’t work. The toilet paper holder was broken. The shower faucet was broken. The shower was not clean. Had to get new sheets because of stains all over it.
