La Quinta Inn by Wyndham Birmingham - Inverness

This was the worst ever! We have stayed there a few times as it is close to my daughter's college, but I told my husband never again. I will pay a little more to not have a horrible experience. We wanted to know Wifi password, and I could not understand what he was telling me over the phone as we called from the room. He then SCREAMED at me 3 times trying to tell me and I told him he was screaming at me, and I hung up. If they would have written the password down on the room key sleeve, (like everyone else does) or put it in the room on the phone or something - this would eliminate not being able to understand his foreign accent. The floor was sticky, so I had to wear my socks. They had to come up to the room to get our tv working. They never offered an apology for anything. The ceiling had a large chunk of crown mold missing - which yes, it is just cosmetic, I was there in April, and I believe I was in the same room with my sister, and the same crown mold was missing. The rug of the hotel was filthy both days and needed to be vacuumed. The elevator floor was also filthy. They have no pride in their hotel. I will never stay there again!!!!

Nice breakfast

When I booked this property I made the mistake of only looking at the provided photos and not reading reviews. This property smells bad and is not well kept. Broken A/C units, holes on walls, first room we got on first floor had trash on floor and toilet did not look clean. The lady at front desk was nice and showed me other rooms to better accommodate us, which we did move and it was a bit cleaner but just not to our standards. If I would have gotten the option of a refund I would have done that and left to find a different hotel. After this experience I will never stay in a La Quinta ever again.

Everything was great. We were traveling with our daughter and granddaughter. It was actually the first time our 6-year-old granddaughter had ever stayed in a hotel. She actually commented about the color scheme as well as the smell.. she loved both by the way. For myself, and I know this is unusual, but they did something that I actually really appreciated and liked. When we checked in in addition to us paying for the room there was a $100 security deposit, Not Unusual and no big deal. I asked can we just pay the security deposit in cash and therefore we would not have to worry about if the bank took several days or if anything got mixed up doing it electronically. The gentleman said that is no problem, we paid the $100, and he promptly put it into a ziplock type bag with a copy of the check-in sheet. The following morning when we checked out the young man who was working that shift said "I'm sorry but just give me a little bit to run upstairs & check your room, then I can release the deposit." Personally, I thought that was fantastic. I cannot count the times that we have paid a deposit like that and the following morning it was just automatically returned. Why did we even pay it if you're not going to actually check to see if we did anything wrong while we stayed there? Just that simple thing made me realize that they care about the condition of their rooms. Like I said, just my opinion, but I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone. Lastly, great breakfast!

Not clean or nice at all

This hotel is really run down. Was decently clean but not great. I wouldn’t stay again. Lots of construction workers staying there which is fine but I wouldn’t feel great staying by myself there.

Probably one of the lower maintained La Quintas we have stayed out. It was very muggy in the rooms. So muggy it made the bedding seem wet the entire time. Breakfast was pretty good though. When we went to open the connecting room door there was a black substance in between on the doors.

The place stuck was in a bad location people or family would just look at you crazy. I was so uncomfortable after 10 minutes there that I asked fir sum of my money back because I was not staying there. It was tge worst place I've ever booked.
