Redmont Hotel Birmingham, Curio Collection by Hilton

This hotel is over 100 years old and it seems like they haven't made one upgrade since it's opening. We had a freezing cold shower and the neighborhood was very sketchy at best. Really disappointing property but the staff was super friendly.

So, we went back down to the restaurant. I told the waitress who had told us there was a Happy Hour, that there hadn't been one in over 3 months. We proceeded to order. The food was pretty good, but there were flies buzzing around, pretty yucky. We went back up to our room, and the sound continued. My husband thought it might be the toilet valve, so he jiggled it, but it still made the annoying barking sound. I ended up calling down to the front desk, and he said that they knew the toilet was broken, but gave the room to us anyway. He then said he could upgrade us, that someone had called??? It didn't make sense, but we said yes. They sent the valet guy up to help us move. We changed rooms, that toilet was broken too. I relayed all of this when I checked out, but I never heard back.

The building is beautiful, but in need of repairs and cleaning. Parking was difficult. Guests were loud. There was no fridge or microwave in our room.

The staff that we encountered were great. The room was nice. What I didn’t like was the parking. I also didn’t like that the second night when we got to our room, our key didn’t work. After a long day we had to go back downstairs and get it fixed. The staff was great and got it don’t quickly. The next problem was when we got back to our room and as soon as we opened the door the room smelled like weed. It was overpowering. We left the door open for a bit to let it air out. We didn’t mention it to the staff because I didn’t think I could say anything nicely. At first I thought maybe it was one of the neighbors but once we let the room air out we didn’t smell it anymore, which was what I was afraid of. I have no doubt someone that had access to the room is where the smell came from.

Clean room, no fridge or microwave. Bed wasn’t the most comfortable. Room key quit working and had to have it redone. $120 extra charge that wasn’t listed on website. Whole hallway on seventh floor smelled STRONGLY of marijuana. Parking across the street was a good location but a major pain to pay for. Good walking distance to BJCC. Staff was courteous and helpful.

Stay was amazing! Staff were helpful and friendly! The only thing was missing was refrigerator/microwave in the room. The rooftop was amazing! Will definitely be back!

Everything and everyone was fantastic. The food was fabulous. Great Staff very accommodating.

Walkable to restaurants. Scooter rental was convenient. Friendly staff, comfortable room. Elevator service was spotty. Not much coffee available on Sunday morning.

We need to leave in the morning and the valet staff were no where to be found. We came down at 6:30 to get our car, and the valet finally showed up to work an hour late.

Hotel is nicely located. Was able to walk to quite a few good restaurants and parks. Staff is incredibly friendly and helpful.
